[NCC-1701 no bloody ABCorD]

Have you guys seen these "posters" this guy is selling on the Bay?: https://www.ebay.com/itm/274218543311

A 15" square "backdrop" and a 15" x 11" "base" = 2 pieces of paper printed on an Epson printer on 24# lightweight copy paper selling for $70 + $11 s/h! Wow, nice racket!

You've kind of nailed it here. After tons and tons of research there are indeed a few slight variations depending on which source... The tv show? The film(s)? If the tv show, which season? So yeah, there are definitely small variations here and there, so I just kind of went with one look. I'm not opposed to changing things, though, if they look wrong, so I'll double check all the various screenshots I have.

I think it looks really impressive! I'm planning on doing TMP upgrades to the QMX figures, so if you ever decide to do a movie chair, or even Spock's science station behind it, I'll be there!

Very nice! Are the figures able to stand OK without those bases? I never liked those, so distracting and obtrusive--and so yellow! And you need to replace Picard w/ McCoy!

Tell QMx to rerelease Bones! I don't display without stands so I am not sure if they do. As of now I'm satisfied with the Trek display.

If you are one of those who, like me, hates using a stand, yes, you shouldn't have any issues with the Trek figures in this regard. The five I have (v1 Kirk, v1 Spock, McCoy, Scotty and Picard) all stood without issue or worry since I got them. Well Scotty has mainly been sitting his ass in the Captain's chair of late, but I'm confident he would stand as well as the others long term.

It always seemed to me that any diorama bases should have holes drilled to give people the option to pose them with or without the stand. My floorboards are slightly too springy so they all end up in a heap after a few weeks.

Good to know, I don't like the bases either. I have not taken my ST figs out of the boxes yet. I have v2 Kirk, Kirk Chair, v2 Spock, Khan, and I have Scotty on pre-order from BBTS. Still in the hunt for Bones.

I kinda like the bases. Plus I wouldn’t risk my figures toppling over. In fact Picard took a topple a couple weeks back and he was on the base. No idea how it happened. Luckily no damage was done as he fell on carpet and it wasn’t a big drop.

I'm sure Scotty and Sulu are of the 2nd release because the boxes I see online do not have the 50th anniv. logo graphic and the sleeve braids are printed on. But I don't know if their bodies are "improved" or if QMx used the old style bodies for them. If abs on Sulu bother you then you will really have a problem with abs on Scotty.

I would seriously attempt to add a layer of cloth as padding under Scotty's shirt for a more realistic physique.

Sulu's not on the new body. Nanjin said it's a generic one that best fit his proportions. It looks like the same body used for Picard, which appeared to be a Ganghood 2.0 Asian muscle body with the rubber neck cut off.

Proportions look good for Sulu but it's too tall. The figure was Scotty's height so I removed the ankle cups from the bottom of his legs. He now scales pretty much perfectly for 5' 6".
