Phew, man this game is gorgeous. I don't want to watch much, but what I've seen is incredibe stuff. This is a real getter.

^^ doesnt look like the Gameplay trailers, no wonder they only showed PC footage, didn't want the masses knowing what they're actually getting graphics-wise. All blurry and flat compared to was was shown in all the official promtional videos.

Will get this in at christmas, no sense dropping £40 on it now.

I read coments about the console versions (360) and they point that is the best looking game to date in console (smoth 60fps and great textures, animations.),and of course, these videos can't do justice to the real thing you'll see on your HDTV

Edit: Now I have been reading some coments of one guy which has both console versions, and says that the PS3 version looks a bit "blurry" and less sharper than the 360 version and PC :/,.. however RAGE runs smothly 60fps on both console versions

You should notice the difference:
Youtube amateur videos: just 30fps, less colourful and blurry than the Bathesda promotional videos on PC

Does anyone know if the PC version has DRM, steam validation or anything really stupid like that?

The game is out in two days right, where are the reviews?

Typical review embargo nonsense that most major releases get these days. I'm sure the pro review sites have already reviewed the game and are waiting until 12:01am Tuesday to release them.

Graphics should make ,what the game is look great, from that review the game looks great has good combat but fails to really make you care.

But its just one review, other may disagree

RAGE is basically a "modern and updated FPS shooter",thats all,(ID old school) but most people think that Rage, could be an RPG or something similar, THIS IS THE PROBLEM AND FIRST MISTAKE :lecture

If you're looking forward for a GREAT shooter, with tons of bullets, weapons, action, fun, and outstanding visuals, animations, textures (running at 60fps ) then, Rage is your game certainly, but if you're looking forward for another kind of game ( RPG like Fallout or something similar), with a great storytelling, deep and complex gameplay, or characters then you will be completely dissapointed with Rage

Anyways, 8.5 is a great score, however reading and whaching the IGN Videoreview, I have the strong "feeling" that they also wrongly expected anything else...and pretty different

Well if the developer is going to make an attempt at a story and inter active charcters to go with the amazing grahics they should make just as much effort in those areas. Don't phone it in.
Sounds like it would've really paid off on an otherwise strong game.
How many great shooters are there that stand the test of time that have poor context, background and story?
But if you want a purely pavlovian experience this might be a good bet.

ID software doing RPG's instead FPS??... c' mon guys, Wake up! :rotfl :rotfl

Most people, have been watching gameplay videos and have seen the character talking with people here and there, a town, an apocalyptic world, and Bathesda behind the game and they have assumed "well ,this is like an RPG, like fallout or Skyrim "... BUT, if you have been following the game, reading impresions, previews, or even Carmack statements, then you SHOULD ALREADY KNOW that RAGE is mostly a FPS shooter, and not any other kind of game. :wink1:

BTW Ill get my copy tomorrow :rock:rock

I'll be picking it up tomorrow. I love the setting and think it looks beautiful. I really like the character animations too. Id is famous for butter smooth controls and frame rate and this looks to continue that legacy.

I never thought it would be an Rpg, but plenty of shooters have decent stories and character development i.e. Gears and Halo.

Once Again, ejem, it's an ID software game (old school)...not Bungie, but it does'nt mean that RAGE does'nt have a "decent story", (and Halo for example has an awesome plot and story)

About Gears, well, I think that only GEOW3 has a decent storytelling, but not great (but with dozens of empty holes and unexplained things there)

Anyways I have been reading more reviews and most of them gave RAGE an overall score of 9 out 10, and none of them did'nt mention anything about a "weak story", they say and match: it's an awesome game with a strong, fun and fresh gameplay system, and fans of ID software (like me) wont be disappointed :wink1:

A couple of RAGE reviews with a 9 out 10 score (in spanish sorry)

And of course Gametrailers videoreview: 90 out 100

And BTW, I'm never agree with IGN's final scores and reviews, if you ask me :lecture
