Wha?

:lol

With Rainman figures it's normally about a month or so from when the pre order went up. Sometime longer, like with Jules from Pulp Fiction.

There are lots of non-English speakers here, and most of us understand that some things get lost in translation.

I would love a nice high end Torrance, but. . .he wouldn't be a particularly complex figure (a Rainman typewriter is an accessory I would love to see though), and the clothing isn't all that special. I think it's safe to estimate the sculpt would have a 50/50 chance of looking really exceptional and beating out the bootleg figure from a few years back. At that point, this isn't really a figure I would be pushing for the 'Man to do. If we knew the sculpt would be amazing, that would be a different story, and a simple figure of an iconic character like this would be great. My first preference would be to let Rainman do what he wants. But since people are going to lobby Rainman no matter what, in my opinion the better bet is to push for characters that will really have a draw in terms of their distinctive and/or complex clothing or accessories. If sculpt is great, fantastic. If not, it can still have an appeal on another level and get broad support because of that.

My opinion also is that Torrence is more of an iminime request than Rainman, I also think that this should have been the case with Pulp Fiction.

The bootleg figure from a few years back and rhe new brothers production one are not enough justice to the character though, iMO if iminime released a bateman quality jack it would be the be all end all for the character. The jeans are the only thing I'd worry about, those are tough to get looking good mass prodiction wise.

Maybe Rainman could do the sculpt too but in my opinion iminime is strongest on their own and Rainman is strongest on his own.

You guys are right about a lot but isn't the hit and miss issue always a constant with RM? Turbo always wanted RM's Bickle but always wanted him to wait for when he was "ready" :lol (that's not a shot a Turbo because I get exactly what he was saying and I shared his concern).

There's no way to know how he can handle any given character or if riding a hot streak has anything to do with it. He gave us Anton which is mostly agreed as one of the best, then gave us the PF guys while simultaneously tackling the BWE commission and now this killer Bickle set. There's a lot of greatness mixed in with a little lack luster, all sprinkled thru the same 8 months (note that none of those were his own character selections; they were all built on suggestions) . There's no way to know what he can do with anything he's presented with until he tries. So from release to release we have to sit at the edge of out seats and hope that he nails it.

I was undecided for a bit if I thought that the PF set was better off in Iminime's hands. I came to the realization that it was better off in RM's hands but I do wish he handeled it better. I'm a big Iminime guy and I love to see how far they've came from 1 1/2 ago; but the fact is their sculpting skills are advancing faster than their tailoring skills and their accessories are falling somewhere in the middle of that (leaning more toward the rate of their sculpting advancements). So the sum of that all means that Iminime is still 2-3 steps behind RM in the clothing & accessory dept.

Sure Iminime may be able to sculpt a Torrance that satisfies the true likeness fan better but the full set would be head and shoulders better coming from The Man. Maybe a collab would be sick. Iminime's sculpt, RM's paint and accessories, RM's tailor :idea

As far as character choices, it doesn't get much better then characters like Torrance for RM. There's basically nothing to argue about and all that arguing makes RM dizzy. One clear choice of outfit, 3-4 no brainer accessories. In that respect this is as easy as pie for him. My personal vote for accessories would be axe, typewriter, bottle of Jack & glass; DX bloody crazed sculpt.

That leads me to another idea that I had. It's pretty obvious that RM likes to keep things simple (3-4 accessories including the FS item) and at the $820 price point but characters like Bickle could never fit that format. Since he did this for his 5th anniversary, maybe he could consider an annual super package like this. So that would mean 3 $820 (and/or $1000 DX) figures per year but the annual fig could be this extended super package. That keeps it straight forward for most of the year but then gives the ability to tackle a more involved, accessory heavy character at a higher price point once per year.

6th annual figure: Raoul Duke with the WORKS! :panic:

In all past collaborations with Iminime, it was RM who did the sculpt and Iminime did the rest correct Pop?

Yup. So far that was Ra's, Butler, Skipper & Lecter. I love the Ra's sculpt although I seem to be minority on that one. Aside from that the other collabs weren't as well received as you'd think they'd be. Maybe switching the roles with Iminime doing the sculpt and him handling the rest is a better formula

Personally I think both entities are stronger on their own,

I liked Tony, didnt love. Loved Alfred, I think it's crazy of anyone thinks There is a better option out there, was not a fan of Lector and I think Rahs was better than it looked in the end result because of the way iminime painted it but it was not my favorite.
