Also for the record I don't think anyone can question an iconic character like Jack is a worthy addition and choice for the Rainman cataloge.

I liked the Subway one 5 years ago but it doesn't cut the mustard today. Ill welcome a Rainman one with open arms though I stand by what I say and think it would have been a better iminime choice.

I would love a Jack - but I would also prefer RM to make his own decision for his next one... We are all constantly shoving characters names in his face... Which - in the end is a good thing for us of course. But I would love to see a character that HE is passionate about....One where we all go - "oh, wow - that will be cool..."

Any conflict of interest with the clothing? We will probably get to a point where using the same tailor may harbor issues for potential projects that could and should be handled by Rainman given his expertise in these areas. Wondering if the use of the same tailor will deter him from doing certain projects.

I think RM would use another of his tailors if that was the case. The expertise in the clothing is the tailor - not Rainman...
I think if he gets in first for a character, then he will keep proceeding - like Bickle... And that can apply to anyone creating a figure in that case.

As far as I know the only time Yunsil is under contract not to replicate clothing is with Rainman, so the question is will those that are using the same tailor as he be prepared and accepting of the possibity that clothing will be replicated in the event that Rainman decides to do the same character.

I think RM was pretty passionate about the PF guys actually - or was that someone's suggestion???
I think some were lobbying pretty hard for the Pulp Fiction guys.

The one figure where this kind of bums me out if true is Deckard from Blade Runner. An absolute geek screen icon, and like Bickle, Torrance, and Alex, has had cult bootleg figures going back many many years. VM apparently uses Rainman's tailor, so presumably did so for his Deckard. As such, it may be a deterrent to Rainman doing this guy, though I certainly hope not.

Yunsil won't replicate clothing if it has already been commissioned for a project.:wink1:

I think VM's Deckard was GOLD. I don't think another would need to be done would it? being such an awesome figure...

I wonder how far that rule would go. . .Gittes had several different looks in that film of course, same goes for Deckard.

Oh, I'm sure new outfit -no problem.... Same outfit - no...
That would be a great advantage for us to get 2 quality outfits for a character too... And as you said... many outfits in a single movie - we can all only win with that!

Frankly I think the sculpt was lacking. I think the definitive Deckard is still to be released. Not saying Rainman would be the one to do it, but I would love to see him try. I do think Rainman did some of those accessories though? So it probably won't happen anyway. Putting that aside, in hindsight I regret picking that one up, but alas.

Is that a fact......Well then I guess there is a conflict of interest here. I have a good deal of respect for many of the customizers here particularly if they introduce new talent instead of syphoning off already established names in the hobby. My concern is what makes those using already established resources of proven 1/6 artists as qualified to claim that a project is off the table once a particular style of clothing has already been done. The interest and support of paying customers will always determine whether something gets greenlit or not but arent we doing the collecter a dis-service by not allowing the most qualified people in this hobby to offer the very best product available, especially when it is their proven resources that they are using.

What's the incentive of making a custom but using someone elses formula. How does this help instead of waterdown the custom art aspect of the hobby?

I suppose once you comission/pay somebody to make something specific - That may be the point you are referring to...

But this is a clothing run, not a one of one commission. The people involved in these runs stand to make a profit off of the already used resources of Qualified custom artists. I'm a Rainman Artworks collector. Why should I have to deal with a character not being offered by my favorite custom 1/6 maker because some unknown (and I'm speaking in general) with no track record decides to make it first and then try to stake a claim on the clothing and why it cant be replicated.
