Funny, because a lot of people are saying that there are massive problems with the Jules sculpt and for me its really great but could use some small things.
Wonka for me was a dream figure that I passed on because I see nothing that resembles Gene Wilder and it seems to be held in high regard.
Different strokes....

I remember a lot of people were not completely sold on the face, I think what really set him apart besides the oompa, obviously was the clothing and accessories. Even though Eagle Eye is one of the best likeness's the outfit or accessories are not as fun or interesting as Wonka.

I think there is nothing, right now from Rainman figure wise, that is more visually interesting than that Richard Harrow. I'd have to agree that it's his top work and will probably remain that way unless Rainman decides to attempt somthing from a different genre of film, say Dracula or somthing along those lines but not too horror specific.

Those figures that create a sense of curiosity, those are the most fun. Alot of thrills will be had when the prosthetic is removed from the rest of the face. It's like modern day phantom of the opera. Beautiful figure.

I know everyone wants popular figures and I'm sure he does to so they all sell, hell I love the PF boys but I'd love to see Rainman go totally off radar and make a figure either A) he wants or B) totally is obscure like Stuart Little!

I think the Wilder likeness is a'aight, but disguised in a way by the "real" hair, which just makes him look weird to me. Oompa is nice, outfit is nice, but I'm not a huge fan of the film and Wonka himself didn't blow my doors off when released and still doesn't. But when you've got something released in small numbers from someone with Rainman's brand name, and probably the coolest accessory he ever did, I can see why there is hype and value associated with that figure despite any other flaws.

I get the sense that Rainman really doesn't pick and choose too much without some feedback because he isn't as much of a movie buff as some of us here in America or Europe, which is why maybe he doesn't understand how obsessive we can be over certain characters being made etc. I think his approach is more fun and lighthearted towards the material, where as some of us are shaped by it because these figures can represent the stories of our environment or characters not to far from real people we may have crossed paths with. These things can create a very powerful nostalgic
feeling.

It would be nice to see what he picks without any interference after the Bickle project though. See what he's into doing at the moment.

Loved the Film CATCF to 10 movie for me easily, but think the wonka is good figure, not great. I really would have loved a scuplted neck attached to the figure. That figure didn't need the head only appoach, like Bill. Bills chest shows so it is needed for him. The real hair doesn't bother me as much as his height, a narrow shoulder slim type should have been used for a body. The resemblens is passing. I really wish someone would try and take Wonka on. It can be upgraded.

It is tuff for me as I have gone after the best executed figures of rainmans, but not my favorite films that rainman has done. Love CATCF an NCFOM, but not really keen on the figures. I have the butcher which I think is a fantastic figure, but think the movies is good, but not great. I have the Doc figure, again I think the movie is average, Vals performance good, but the figure is great. At times I am wanting the figures of the movies I love, but just because I love the movie I can't pull the trigger on the figure cause I just don't feel them.

Robbie, I didn't see too much Wilder in the Wonka figure either. But there were none previously made, and it seems no one wants to tackle it in the future. So when it is the only game in town, supply vs demand.

Maybe the only thing that can be slightly improved about Wonka, is the sculpt. Otherwise it's perfect- the clothing, the oompa can't be matched.

I really like the Wonka figure. Cool movie from childhood. I've never seen the Boardwalk Empire show but that figure looks really cool. If somebody redid that Wonka, I don't set it would be any harder than any other figure to make with just another head for the Oompa. With all of the talented sculptors on this forum, I don't see any reason,if there's that much interest, to do a few. As a matter of fact, they could provably improve in the sculpt to look a little more like Gene Wilder. I have noticed one thing about the Rainman figures is he does really obscure characters. They look really cool but the choices for figures are just kind of odd. I wouldn't have ever thought of owning a figure of Willy Wonka or Pee Wee Herman. How does he actually come up with the figures he does?

Pretty much sums it up I think the sculpt could be improved on perhaps with sculpted hair...

A lot of his releases are suggested by various memmbers here

I understand the attraction to Wonka. Hell, I'm attracted to it and was interested in one despite the fact that it doesn't measure up to some important aspects of my collecting criteria; mainly the likeness but the movie isn't one of my all-time faves a well.

Even though the likeness isn't there for me as an art figure it's amazing. Unique, vivid, interesting... it just has a lot of charm and it commands attention. The accessories are very cool too. But when I speak about RM's likenesses I always forget the Oopma; technically his BEST likeness of all.

Ya when friends and family look at my collection id say 9 out of 10 go straight towards Wonka and comment on how great he is, something about the purple coat with his amazing vest and real hair, it is a very very unique figure.
