Why not communicate with us? Even before accepting the commission how about sharing the idea with us to gauge if there is a genuine general interest. This could have been handeled very well. At least offer his general support the option of "hey guys, what do you think about this character" he ultimately chooses his characters so why not just share it with us. He doesnt need our permission but damn this feels cold! Look at the amount of work put into that figure, thats quality work deserving of his fans.

Why would someone announce a private commission? That's the point.

Rainman probably doesn't look in the Wishlist thread too much if ever and I'm betting he thought it wouldn't be a popular choice for general release...I'm not sure more than 10 people on here are big enough fans of BE to warrent 35 fullsets being released.

Visually it's interesting. That alone will warrant interest. Plenty of figures have sold that people weren't up on.

Dudes got a removable sculpted prosthetic. That's an easy sell.

Also working on two or heavens knows how many other characters at one time warrants another look at a Julie sculpt that many people had some nitpicks, without having to be left in limbo about It.
looks as if this comes easy to him. I feel a certain way about this.

What's done is done but damn, some of us want to grow our collections not have to compete with these greedy commissions.

Looking at this figure more and more, you'd be surprised. It is a real beaut! The kind of piece that would make someone run out and watch the show just to know what Harrow is all about. A legendary figure to say the least.

Turbo, I hear what you are saying. Personally, I highly doubt that RM will start leaning towards commission only work. Not enough collectors with the disposable income to provide him with consistent $. He knows that if he alienates his core group, it will cost him. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt here, he may not be aware of this brouhaha.

I'd definitely like a closer look at it for sure

Well said but If he's unaware about this figure what else is he unaware about. Mostly most of the blame is with the guy who commissioned Rainman, I mean he really took advantage of rainman and created doubt with some of his fanbase. A 5k commission isn't cheap but it's certainly do-able by anyone. It's a tacky approach to this hobby, and a real quick way to start scratching off possible projects.

:goodpost::exactly:Countless times when a really stunning sculpt is released, people are interested in going back and giving the material a second or even first chance, ive seen this with so many releases, Walter White, Eagle Eye, the Dude, Anton, Mal.

I hope so because he really would be pissing on the foundation of his custom business that everyone here helped build. The reason he has so much fame and notoriety isn't only because of his great talent but the combined effort of everyone's feedback, the youtube reviews, the facebook posts, and the constant flattery and comparing of other artists are what got him at the top of the game, most certainly the level of success he's at now. My point is without everyone in the communities support, promotion, contributions but also being consumers of Rainman's products he would not have even been approached for this commission, so i do think he does own something to his fans who have been there supporting him building his name to and truly bring in the consistent $$ as opposed to the quick payday.

:clap:clap There it is!

In my opinion Rainman shouldn't really be gettig any of the critism here. It's the guy who commissioned it who we should be upset with, weather we have a right to be upset with him or not that point is up for debate.

As I said rainman if anything stands to make more from successfull full runs than private commissions.

And it's definitely not his fault for showing it off god damn that's something to be proud of!

It just makes me a sad sad manchild is all :(
