C'mon man seriously? Get off it man. I ain't talking about you directly, it's a general comment, you can't see that then you really can't read between the lines :lol. Can a brother just speak his mind and share some insight? Nothing negative being shared here, just some opinion and a look at things with a different perspective. It's what we do in a Rainman thread phine1. We've been doing it probably before you even knew who Rainman or his artworks were. Let's not turn this the wrong way because than my good suggestions will be drowned out by your drama and I don't want that. Ok? Cool.

I don't always agree with Turbo but he is right here, all his suggestions have been positive and for progression, nothing wrong with anything he said, it's clear he wants this release to be the best it can and he's excited for it.

Cool Turbo.
Because everyone enjoys your self-righteous rants about how no one except you knows about care or detailing in artwork.
and obviously I fully support suggestions and ideas, but you turn it into demands and prejudged criticism. paragraph after paragraph.
I dont care how long you have known about Rainman compared to me or any other collector- its beyond the point. constructive critisism is one thing but you have some warped idea that Lee doesnt know what hes doing and you are the lord and savior for his projects.
It just gets to me when you make these rants about how you know better than Lee (or anyone else in your mind) on how he should make HIS artwork...?

I think Phine1 is also saying we get the point about the bottom curl on twin number one...:lol:lol

Let's just see what happens and what Lee does. Suggestions are great. They turn into dictating after several posts.

Woah :dunno. Listen phine1, take a deep breath and work that out man because your interpreting what I say a little too warped out. You went the extra mile there and your personal comments can cause unwanted drama. Nobody wants that. These are suggestions nothing more nothing less. Positive suggestions. Take it easy man, we got this.

ok man. stay positive. Lee will make this and it's going to be amazing.
just know that we all understand what u mean and u dont have to post the same thing 4 times in paragraphs and laugh about how you think no one else is able to interpret things, cares or sees details as important.
I along with everyone appreciate the suggestions - but why jump to such conclusions?
As Marlin stated - repeating suggestions turns into dictating. that's all I was trying to get across here.
Keepin the faith.

Just trying to cover all bases brother, plus things get drowned out in these pages...sometimes you gotta hammer it home. Keep it a hot topic and enough people agree then good suggestions become great changes.

Example's of suggestions: Anton's Hair, or Wonka's oompa or any other number of suggestions through the years that turned into the epic ness you love to stare at for hours on your shelf.

It's also better to make these suggestions sooner than later in production. Nothing wrong with helping him out along the way with a few key aspects.

We are always passionate about these Rainman figures, and for some reason RM seems to make changes along the way based on some feedback.
We all want the best out of his figues, and the small details often make that happen. I love the passion and I love the community. Sometimes we can get out of hand with one another, but most of us are all here after the same thing in the end.

The twins are one thing as far as details - and secondary, I'd like to see more of Torrence to see where he is heading! The axe was killer...Robbie's Trike is 100% - let's hope the rest will be! And I am sure it will be a phenomenal release...

Hahaha:rotfl exactly! All for the love of getting it right! We need those curls!!! These are the talking points that some of ya'll gonna need inorder to convince your wives that they are more than just "Dolls"

I haven't even gotten started on the clothing yet. Jack Torrance wears Lee Jeans, which means Lee cut pockets on the back not Levi's. Pics coming soon for those that don't know what the hell I'm talking about.

Get em!!!

So, no one has noticed that one of the twins is clearly taller than the other? Like significantly taller to the extend that one could be distinguished from the other by the difference in height.

i believe we s sheeet out of luck with clothing since its already done...but this could turn out to be another butcher vest thing here...:)

Hmm, the boots look alittle bulky maybe? It kind of looks like a pair of uggs from the side. The laces are way too even and I want to say perfectly lined up when Jacks boots were tied really tight.

Unless those are both the left pair of the boot.......the structure of the laces and how they fall should at least be distinct from one another inorder to give the boots a bit more personality. Sculpting the left pair and right pair as a mirror image of each other doesn't vibe well.

Also would have loved to see some real material used like Anton's or Plainviews boots. Sculpted boots don't really give off the illusion to well.

This is something I do agree with. Just did a quick screen cap of when Jack is being dragged to the dry storage - I flipped them to compare.

All in all the boots are wonderfully sculpted by Rainman and very accurate - but a "tighter" look with more divets in the sole would be ideal. Still I am very impressed with the current sculpt. Paint will go a long way on those. :)

Well the seams look to be more pointed towards the toe then rainmans also the lace part seems to slope up too fast rather than gradually like the screen cap.

Agreed. the shoe on the right in the screen cap shows that best - The point should basically be a 90 degree angle.
I think the sloping of the laces is less noticeable because the jeans cover the top either 1 or 2 lace slots in the screencap. but i see what u mean.

Yeah good point about the jeans, should cover that, I mean these are just tiny nit picks that don't bother me to much, would I like them corrected... sure, will it drive me crazy if they aren't... certainly not. I know others will be bothered but I'm not that much a stickler haha.

It looks like there is so much work to do on this project for Rainman that it sounds unfair to nitpick things. I think the axe, the trike and what we've seen so far with the sculpt look fantastic. The twin sculpt can benefit from Rainman taking another look at this hair issue though. We haven't seen the other twin but judging from what Hydeous said, it seems like Rainman is just going to use the same sculpt and presumably the same pattern for the hair. Basing it off that assumption I can say it's not going to look good to use that sculpt the same exact way. The twin illusion will be lost, it won't look right.

Firstly it doesn't really resemble how the hair looks in the film aside from the part and the bonnet. It's off. So once again.....sorry guys.....I strongly suggest that the ear whisperers bring this suggestion up to Rainman and articulate this point in a respectful way. Let him take another look at it to see if somthing can be change. Even if he changes the direction the ends of the hair is facing would help. It's strange but there's just somthing about the ends of the hair that need work. If he can base it more closely to resemble what it looked like in the film, he'll knock it out of the park with regard to the sculpt for twin 1.

This is a highly stylized and exaggerated illustration of the twins. A caricature in a clay like form, but what I like about it is that it does 2 things very well that I've been trying to point out. 1) It very clearly shows the subtle smile and subtle frown that represent the laugh now cry later metaphor, and 2) they create a full curl or "pomp" and the ends of the hair. This is an exaggerated illustration but they managed to incorporate these detail in it. Not the best example but interesting enough to point out that somthing as exaggerated as this clay like caricature would pay attention to those type of details.

Also, doesn't the twin on the right look a little heavier- body and face.
