Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

Rainman hasn't been on in 48hours....these must be coming on nicely. :rock

Snake Eater I know you started this thread, but did you have any say in getting Rainman to choose this figure? If so good job. :clap

I can't wait to see Doc in hand and I never thought I would be excited about a figure from a movie I had never seen before until I started following this thread

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

I had a little hand in requesting it but this one was ultimately Rainmans choice. :duff
Calci put the idea in originally.

Sure gonna be a beauty. Good luck on your move man.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

Honestly, since the day the heads, outfit, sets, et al went up for sale, I have been trying to find if I could source or even find a decent outfit for Doc. Researched the net, the board, and asked fellow freaks for some advice on some 'good enough' Western outfit. Got to know about a lot of stuff but could never find anything more than just 'fine'.

Was wondering if there is any company who makes 1/6 Western clothes, or people mostly bash their figures. Found this Jesse James outfit, pretty cheap and I might be able to use the pants and the frock, but it'll looks crass and then most of all no movie accuracy.

Anyways, beauty lies in the eyes of beholder and as far as one is convinced about anything as 'good enough for me', he can be happy. For the rest (like me), who have a certain amount of stickler for perfection (but not enough dough!), to rant in Rainman's thread is the only option, I believe.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

it appears there is still a set of clothes available on Rainmans site in additon to the heads

Yup it sure is.

I guess no one wants to settle for the Iminimi Team's paint job, even though IMO it is still a great paint job.

The unpainted HS is also available. So many talented painters on here that would do an excellent job painting it.

Can't go wrong!

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

^Very true. I reckon the iminime paint job will look fantastic in hand, considering Rainmans close guidance over the project.

A few years ago I bought the Tuco clothing set and an unpainted Tuco sculpt. The sculpt I found to be one of the easiest sculpts for me to paint (I still haven't done the eyes though). It just flowed very easy including the beard stubble. As for the clothing, it was the most I've ever spent on a custom set.

There also seems to be an unpainted Bill the Butcher head. I'm pondering ordering one of each of the unpainted sculpts --- but postage is $ 22 to the States. As mentioned before BGT has some fine western clothes as well as rigs and firearms ans STEVO has some great leather goods and pewter pistols

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

Which body should I get for this guy? I missed out on the full set but got the clothing and pre-painted head so just need body.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

^Pretty certain Rainman uses TT Narrow bodies for most of his customs, including Doc. Someone please clarify?

TT Narrow, the only figured he has tailored to a slim is Marty McFly.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

^Yeah I had a feeling it was the Narrow, wasn't sure.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

Sounds about right. Is Rainman usually on time or is he like every other toy company that has delays? :)

You may see a week delay. But usually he is right on time.
And when he ships it, it is usually in your hands within a few days.
Rainman gets an A+ for quality of product. A+ for packaging and shipping and A+ in customer service.
He has set the standard in which everyone that sells on this board has tried to achieve.
And hes a really cool guy.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

I wonder what he will be using for Pee Wee? Pee Wee is skinnier than Marty.
Yeah, seems like the narrow shoulder wouldn't be skinny enough for Pee Wee, but I suspect that's probably the route he will take. Slim would be too short, and bodies likely too hard to find.

Agreed. :exactly:
