Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

Yea without a doubt Anton is one of, if not BP's best fig. I too was really tempted several times to bite at it for $300+ but decided that I'd wait it out in hopes that someone would do him better justice. THANK YOU RAINMAN!!!!

To my other point, there's a good reason why the licensed companies as well as the undergrounders like CRM & BP choose the characters/franchises that they do. Sure everyone could make a mistake and once and a while and choose a pig, but 9/10 times they know what they're doing.

DOPE sig JP!!!! This boy is ready!!!!

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

This is definitely a figure to be excited for. Unfortunately unless he did someone especially interesting/grail-like I could never justify Rainman's absurdly high prices. I know for some they do not have an issue paying nearly one grand for something that shouldn't tip past half a grand, but I hate to say that I am not one of those guys. At the very least I can sit back and enjoy seeing the pictures though.

One of the nice things is that no one has to be concerned with the facial expression, unlike with Bateman. We all know exactly how this character is going to look lol. I definitely watched the film for him. He was extremely interesting and very well played. It was a perfect balance of acting, slipping in subtle emotion here and there so that it didn't feel robotic. You can tell the performance was quite carefully crafted.

For a figure like this I would probably look to get a basic diorama of a small wall with a door. I mean if you're going to throw down one thousand might as well go a step further right? Would be pretty sweet. Simply have the door half open with the knob in front of it and have him standing behind the door with the weapon in his hand. Might be weird for someone who has never seen the film, but I think anyone who has would definitely be impressed!

Real quick

Whats more expensive?

A mass-produced Hot Toys figure steadily climbing to $300 dollars per figure that will decrease in value over time?

or

Rainman's $800-$1000 per figure that will maintain its value, increase in value, double in value, or even triple in value over time?

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

Despite already seeing this like 5 times since I came out, this past weekend I watched it twice nearly back to back. The 2nd time was my girl's doing which was pretty surprising(I'm usually the nut who watches something 3 times in a week when I'm on the kick). She couldn't get enough. She's crazy about this movie but hates Anton. She's team Llewelyn & I'm team Anton. So needless to say she's not as pumped for this fig as I am :lol

I don't care if the figure will maintain its value or double in value just because it was already expensive and highly limited :dunno I care about the figure's actual value.

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

Anton's a great choice. I'm also very excited to see some of Rainmans WIP pics soon.
