Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

I believe he directs most thing that Iminime does. But he himself sculpted Ra's and his accessories, Alfred and Tony.

And if anyone is selling a Dude full set for less then $2k, hit me

Do you know if he sculpted Black Jack? I think I remember reading an interview about how it was a unique experience given Black Jack's anime background. It's an incredible sculpt and I recommend anyone who has not seen it search up ZCWO Black Jack.

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

i agree we shouldnt rush him. also i dont have the skipper or butler in hand and wasnt planning on grabbing them, personally. think the Alfred that Imaresqd1 did is the best ive seen. the Ras i think looks great and i have an HS on the way, so i'll wait to have it in hand to say for sure. i dont know who/what the Black JAck release is, so i'll have to look for it.
but the Milkshake MAn Plainview is really stunning. wish i had been able to grab a DX set.

:exactly::lecture:clap:clap:clap:clap:clap

The tailoring on some of the recent releases also feel a bit rushed. Hope the Anton likeness is an easier one for Rainman to catch. Hoping for one of those figures where pictures and inhand are equally amazing.

I've seen the accessories and it's really amazing stuff.

I definitely want to get him. Black Jack is a very iconic figure (I love the manga) and this seems like the definite release for him. I hope Rainman gets involved with more projects. He should definitely do Doctor Tenma from Monster. I think he would do an excellent job, but I feel bad for continuing to make such off topic posts in this thread.

In fact poor Anton is probably the least mentioned figure in the thread these days :lol

Naw, I think everyone's just shooting the **** until we eventually get some WIP pics. Like waiting on line for an iPhone or somthing! :lol

Yeah. There really is not much to talk about till we see how the project is going. His two weapons of choice are obvious accessories and the only ones we truly need. And since he holds the same facial expression for most of the film that's an easy expression to see going to the figure so there isn't much to debate on that either.

Yes he sculpted Black Jack, also he did Chow Yun Fat for ZCWO's 'A Better Tomorrow'... You seem to be a big Manga/Anime fan. Although I really liked Monster dont know how recognisable/presence Dr. Tenma would have... Id actually like to see if they can get the license to Death Note.. Medicom did some great work, but I missed out on them... L, Light, Near and Mello would be my complete anime grails...

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

real hoff died right after baywatch ended. the current one is a doppelhoffer, an android created by the mcdonalds corporation to subliminally sell more burgers to drunk people.

my foil helmet is coming loose... i'll be right back.

Hehe I need one of those foil helmets myself.

So is pamela a clone aswell I wonder?

Need some more gravy for my brain:monkey1

I am a huge anime and manga fan. I still hope one day this site gets a board dedicated to manga and anime as I feel like most people either do not discuss it or the discussions get drowned out and people don't even know they are there.

To me it is important to get a market in Japan for customs and non Medicom companies and a great way to do it is by covering these classical licenses that Japanese adults/collectors would be interested in. Considering how popular 20th Century Boys, Pluto, and Monster are in Japan I think Doctor Tenma would be very recognizable for them, but yeah it might be a harder sale outside of Japan. I can dream though. At the very least a Johan would be outstanding.

As for Death Note yeah Medicom did a great job with them and I am surprised they don't bother rereleasing because now those figures go for a fair bit on the after market (which contrasts as usually Medicom figures go for pretty cheap in the aftermarket). I would definitely like to have an updated L with Medicom's more recent show of skill.

Are you a Jojo's Bizarre Adventure fan. Medicom's Jojo lineup is arguably the greatest 1/6 lineup of the last decade. Every figure is top notch, 100% accurate and the great thing is it has so many releases. It's a huge contrast from the typical "release the main character and move on" thing that companies usually have.

I'd kill for a Near and Mello to cap off the set! Also need Rem! I hate when Medicom just never completes and anime license. How do you release Dragon Ball figures and not make Vegeta! Fools!

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

oh that Black Jack, the Tezuka character. thats sick. cant wait to see it.
really hope rainman gets back into anime figs a bit more now and does a Bebop line. or an ergo proxy.

and i have my eye on ABT Mark right now. love that flick and character.

I think Iminime have plans on Japan exclusive releases and licenses, (They already did Astro Boy too) Japan is such a dedicated an huge market for their own stuff that manufacturers really dont need worldwide sales to get their projected profits.

20th Century Boys has been one of my fav manga titles of all time, and I think HT recognised that and made 'Friend' as one of their exclusives... I think slowly the chinese 1/6 companies are recognising Japanese licenses and looking beyond the usual DBZ and Naruto.

No Im not really a big fan of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, my fav ones are the Kindaichi Files, Death Note, Tantei Gakuen Q, Trigun, 20th Century Boys, Pluto, GTO and yes DB/Z :lol

I'd kill for a Near and Mello to cap off the set! Also need Rem! I hate when Medicom just never completes and anime license. How do you release Dragon Ball figures and not make Vegeta! Fools!
Sell me L and Light... name your price... NOW!

It's just how the market goes. Not making Vegeta was weird, but not making Raoh or Toki in the Fist of the North Star lineup was even weirder. They made the main character, one of the other main characters, and then a minor villain. It was very strange. I am assuming the two licenses were not selling well and maybe that's why they stopped. In Medicom's defense, almost no company actually does good runs of licenses. They mostly do the main character, main villain (very rarely surprisingly especially Japanese companies for some reason), and maybe the designer's favorite character or something. After that it is mostly just variants.

Yeah what I meant to say earlier was that I hope Rainman gets involved in more ANIME projects. Maybe we will get lucky and he will completely do his own sometime. Just imagine if he did something really intricate like Guts, Vash the Stampede, Manji, Alita, etc... Loads of potential there.

EDIT: You're a GTO fan Axe? Awesome. I love that series. I have the whole manga in my collection. It's a great series.

JoJo and Death Note are my absolute favorite animes! I started to collect all the JoJo Medicom figures but got burnt out in the process. Acquiring the figures was ok but trying to get the Stands for everyone was difficult and way too expensive. So I kept Jotaro/StarPlatinum and Dio/The World and sold off the rest. Damn shame too cause they are some of the most beautiful figures out. The clothing alone is so unique and eye popping!

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

Oh no I wish I was there when you were selling them off lol. Jolyne is my favorite Jojo (though my favorite Jojo character in general is Gyro Zeppeli) and I have been trying to get her and Gyro for decent prices. Gyro especially is kind of rare since he was released quite awhile ago.

But yeah I really hate how Medicom handled the stands. You either have to pay absurd prices on the aftermarket or live in Japan to get them. They aren't even poseable. It wasn't the best decision.

Are you aware a new Jojo's Bizarre Adventure anime started up? The first episode is already out and it's based off the manga which is great.

Oh boy this brings off topic to a whole new level lol

EDIT: I LOVE how you did the Jotaro vs Dio thing by having them face each other in two separate display cases. It looks awesome!

One of my most desired figures if the Part 6 Jotaro Medicom made. He was an exclusive so he goes for a lot of money, but he certainly looks fantastic and its my favorite look for him.

I don't know anything about anime but I read the interview a couple of weeks ago that you're talking about. Everyone should check it out in ZCWO's site. There's a pic of the Man too

Me too man! Those two you were looking for took the longest to sell! :lol Was aware the anime was being developed but didnt know it was out. Thanks for words and the heads up! :hi5: Part 6 Jojo is pretty cool but for me its Part 3 all the way!

My JoJo Collection before the sale! :(
