Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

The knock off hands do annoy me on figures I've had although so far I've not seen any of the knock off bodies in hand that Rainman has used. Were they just used on the Plainview figure or any past figures also ?.

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

Plainview I think was the first. At least for me, because I bought a head and clothing set for Doc.

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

Not sure if its been mentioned but Rainman is working on his own custom body. Unfortunately Anton will not have this body but it is in the works for future releases.

Just imagine, a REAL full custom rainman collectible. :panic:

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

For me its two things one is the hands. The knock offs are crap but second its the principal. I collect these because of the character and really name/quality recognition.

Rainman=quality custom "best"

When a cheap body is used it makes me feel that is lessened.

When I make something I want it to be the best. Cheap body isn't the best. I thought he had that same philosophy.

:lecture:exactly: I agree completely.

Now that would be cool!

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

That's sounds great, but I couldn't imagine anything better than a truetype. It's the Nike of 1/6 bodies. Be interesting if Rainman creates specific bodies for specific characters, like he did with the moobs chestplate for the Dude.

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

It's more than just principle (but of course it's that too). The knockoff that was used on Plainview is all around better that the early batches that Iminime was using but it's still NOTICEABLY subpar to the real deal. It was better than the first batch in the way that it's tighter and uses the same hand pegs as the official TT. But it still isn't as tight as a real deal and the hand pegs fit but not as snug as on a real one. Forget about the hand paint; that's total garbage.

Whoever has experience with real TT can see the difference easily; and I'm talking without removing the clothes. It just has a cheap creaky feel when you’re bending the joints, despite being tighter than before. And I learned that the plastic that they use is soft cheap trash. A few different times when I was tightening some of the old batch up, I almost put the screw straight thru the knee/elbow joint (it started poking out of the other side).

Listen these bodies are a great new alternatives for everyone in the community who doesn't want to stretch for the real deal. But they are not equal. There is a very good reason why a TT is $45+ and these are $18-$23. And it's not what I expect to get with an $800+ art figure.

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

Rainman should just start using the old Sideshow Buck bodies. . .and then everyone would all appreciate whatever else it was he decided to use instead from then on :lol

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

I do completely understand what you guys are saying about principal. I just swapped the hands out with proper tt hands, I guess I am lucky I have a bag of them :lol

Boom!

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

Wow the air compressor looks incredible can't wait for the full reveal

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

As I suspected, the captive bolt is definitely my favourite accessory that rainman has done so far :)

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

Just incredible. The reveal cannot come soon enough!

In terms of sturdiness, yeah, TT will be tough to beat.

But in terms of anatomy the TT still leaves plenty to be desired. My biggest issue with TTs are that the arms are ape length and the hands are too big.

I cannot stand the exposed wrist joints on my Bespin Luke. But the body itself holds so much better than the non HT TT. I have several of the 20 dollar ones and they are fine with stands, but otherwise it is impossible; I'm always freaking out that my Plainview would fall over.

Hose should be connected behind not underneath, maybe

Beautiful work, he gave it the polished/machined look with grooves on the silencer, I hope that the etching is on the pump/handle though. The Bolt pistol looks great, but I think the hose is actually connected to the back not underneath the handle. Can't wait for some more pics! :clap
