Not really, but I wouldn't mind the option of doing so if I was that way inclined.

No one's calling for Spiderman style manoeuvrability, just that I'd rather her arms weren't locked out like a cartoon mummy chasing after Scooby Doo.

Seriously, why do the arms need to be static with only a straight up and down bit of bird flapping possible? A clear pole tpe stand, giving the illusion of levitation, would still work without the limbs being frozen in position, wouldn't it?

Then you could still have some different options at least. If her arms are just straight and tucked in tight to her body, or sticking out like she's playing aeroplanes then it is going to be needlessly statuesque.

Ok, maybe I'm biased because i'm hoping Pazazu is included and I want to try and pull off some version of this:

....but also I would like arm movement for other, subtler poses:

...and anyway, even when she is being levitated, her arms aren't stuck out straight and rigid:

Exactly :lecture. You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to ishothimsixtimes again.

The whole statue-esq thing works for something like The Twins and just gets away with working for what he did with Danny, but this is different. The poseability and versatility of figures mixed with our own creativity is what breathes life into them. To me that's what keeps them interesting and the reason I collect figures over statues, PFs, etc.

I'd love to have the option of posing her leaning against the post like in the pic you posted. It'll look perfectly fine with an articulated body. I don't know specifically about the Obitsu bodies, but I have what I believe to be similar quality female bodies, and while they aren't TT quality (nothing exactly is), they're perfectly fine. They hold extreme poses and can stand without stands. The good part about Regan is she doesn't need to stand up so the articulated bodies that are widely available would suit her perfectly. Maybe painting from the elbow and knee down would be all that's necessary

I came across this while browsing pics. Don't know anything about the creator(s), but love that they did something different than having her strapped down

The wounds on the legs are deep that's not somthing you can just paint that will give off a quality illusion that will also match the sculpt wounds, plus she has to be barefoot. That requires skillful sculpting and a body that is going to have parts exposed like Reagan's should also be sculpted inorder to fit the continuity of the figure. Why do you think Rainman chose to sculpt the twins arms and legs instead of just resort to some Obitsu body? Because he knew it wouldn't look good. Besides more of the work should be his touch not just a sculpt and some articulated body. That's old already. After the twins there's no going back for certain types of characters that require these types of details. Ofcourse this figure should have some degree of articulation but if I had to guess it would be what is neccessary like arm movement and torso articulation. We will see what he does when he gets to it but I have a feeling he really wants to be hands on with the creation of the entirety of Reagan in much the same way as the twins and I'm personally welcoming it with open arms.

This is why I say that Father Karras is somewhat necessary as well because as a fully clothed figure he can be Trutype articulated and that will certainly add balance to the project for people who love to extreme pose their figures.

Well the man did say he wanted a challenge, right! :lol

It's right in front of us man....all the answers are here. All that's left are Lee's surprises.

If Lee sculpts a brand new body for this, the price will be up there lol But it's a challenge for sure

This is seeming more and more to be a statue to me, I think this is an extremely ambitious project, I'm curious to see if he really goes through with this.

This thread is mostly the opinion of a few individuals forcing their opinions. Lee only mentioned "let's do it". He more than likely hasn't even seen this thread or started any preproduction on it, cool your jets boys one step at a time ......

Im not even talking about anyones ideas that have been stated, I'm just thinking for this to work as a 1/6 scale articulated figure it is going to be extremely hard to pull off with all the custom body parts and in general bodies which will need to be "Mass" produced for FS, DX sets or w/e.

There really shouldn't be anything statuesque about it. The 21cm would be a great fit and they are available. Painted from the elbow & knees down, the neck up and we gotz ourselves a figure, not a statue :wink1:

Yeah but he is going to have to do custom arms and legs for all those bodies if they are to be done right i.e. scars, scratches, cuts, coloring w/e, which hell have to do some sort of articulation and if he can do it on the stock arms and legs its still going to be a lot of work and not look as smooth looking in terms of seamlessness. Plus the H&C people are F'd haha.

All of which brings me back to "This is seeming more and more to be a statue to me"

I agree with Popcultkid he has had an excellent track record sharing ideas, pushing production tweaks and helping figures be created correctly . He also is a huge horror movie buff probably knows more than most of us. His collections are incredible and is a huge fan of the movie.

I'm sure there are plenty of tricks to pull of the cuts on the legs of these bodies and make it all look proper after paint. No different than Surfer or Jake adding bandages and BD to all of those Walt sculpts, or like Josh Smalls has added BD and cuts on so many different clean sculpts

K say he paints them, they are still going to have a lot of joints showing which a lot of people hate. Actually just the feet, just looked and the arms are covered and the knees too, actually having looked at her again it doesn't seem as hard as I envisioned it hahaha.

You're trying to get on my good side but I told you I will not stop texting you pics and clips from this movie :lol:lol :1-1:

The more I'm thinking about it, the less I figure I would get a figure from this film, but I would love to see Rainman really challenge himself by trying for articulation with that character.

What? The wrists and ankles? Most figures show wrist pegs anyway. And I thought you said you were out on this? Why are you worried brother, it'll be all gravy in the Navy, baby!

These are small things to overlook for the greater good

Ya just because I'm out on this doesn't mean I can't join in on the discussion, I'm out but I'm still very interested to see it completed, just don't want to own it haha.

Of course all are free to join in the discussion! Just didn't understand your concerns if you're not in for one
