Watching that clip of the deleted ending, what a great actor Richard Crenna was.

The reason why Rambo IV worked was that essentially Rambo takes the Sam Trautman role with the younger mercenaries taking on his role. If Stallone goes back and tries to make out that Rambo is as good as he was 20/30 years ago then people will struggle to relate to the film.

Agree with this. Rambo had a perfect ending for that character. The whole point of it was that we were meant to believe that John J. had finally given up violence for good & was about to find peace with the country that turned it's back on him & that he, in turn, then turned his back on.

Another one is, for me, a terrible idea that, if the writing for The Expendable films is anything to go by, will be of epically piss poor proportions.

Just let it go, Sly. Let. It. Go! :)

I used to think that Rambo 4 had the perfect ending, but now I realize that although it was a good ending, it's not appropriate for the character. There's only one logical ending to Rambo's story, and that is for him to die in battle in a blaze of glory while he still can, it's his destiny and the only way he will get the peace he's been searching for so many years. A guy like Rambo can't die of old age in a nursing home...or in a farm in Arizona.

Wasn't this rumored to be about Rambo hunting a monster in the snow?

Can't Stallone just walk away from this? Do we really need another Rambo? This is just sad, they were good for their time, but now, not so much.

Yes, the world needs another Rambo, but more importantly, I need another Rambo. You didn't like part 4? Most Rambo fans love that one. He still in great shape, so he should do it before it's too late.

Rambo was awesome... no way they can top that. This will be more Expendables Rambo which with stink.
