Stallone looks about 35 in that mock poster. That alternative ending to First Blood was so terrible I can't believe they actually even shot it. Not to mention it is one of the most unconvincing death scenes I think I've seen. *Pop* Rambo kind of jumps back like a poor stunt take and then dies peacefully with no moaning, struggling last words, or bleeding out from the stomach/rib/lower chest wound (and one shot from a service sidearm is enough to take out someone as tough as Rambo?!?) Even if it were to the heart it would take 15 seconds or so. And then he's left is propped up with his eyes closed like he's taking a nap and dreaming of sugarplum faeries. Good grief.

Original PREDATOR has Arnold playing Rambo-like character.

For a few months, following the release of Rocky IV, a joke was making rounds in Hollywood. Since Rocky Balboa had run out of earthly opponents, he would have to fight an alien if a fifth installment of his boxing series were to be made. Screenwriters Jim and John Thomas took the joke seriously and wrote a screenplay based on the joke.

It was picked up by 20th Century Fox in 1985, and turned over to producer Joel Silver who, based on his experience with Commando, decided to turn the science fiction pulp storyline into a big-budget film.
First Blood II was released in May of 1985, so here's the reason why FOX picked it up.

:dunno

I still can't believe it was considered for Rocky to fight an Alien. You go from the Oscar winning film about a down on his luck, lowly boxer... to fighting an Alien?

Now that I did not know. You're right, I can't believe they would even think of something so stupid as Rocky vs an Alien

they already made that movie....REAL STEEL.

rocky was busy doing something else so they got wolverine do it. matched to take out robocop and terminator in one blow...and made it a kids movie.

Well, it was the 80s and everyone was on coke :lol

Oh I remember.. it was everywhere. I wish those NYC days were back vs the modern touristy NYC we have nowadays. Man I remember getting my first fake ID from an Army Navy joint on 42nd back in the early 70s. Some of the stories I could tell ya. Most today wouldn't even dream of the old stuff going on today. I should go on you gentlemen board and share some stories lol

Real steal was a good film

Well for me if they never make another Rambo or Rocky film I'm good with it. Stallone did a great job with the last Rocky and Rambo films closing the circle so to speak. I really enjoyed the last films a lot more than compared to Rambo 3 and Rocky 5. Again well done by Stallone IMHO
