Of course this will always hold a special place in my heart from when I was a youngster.

I've heard some good thing about Walle. Love Kanye but not the new ^^^^ he's doing right now. Forgot about Lord Quas (Madlib). The goblin voice may not be for everybody and some can't listen to it unless they high :lol

Wow so much to listen to- thanks guys! :rock

I think what I also really like is some melody in the rap.

Off topic but does anyone have a copy of the album For The Kids by Gym Class Heroes? It's out of production and I can't find it. Heard good things about it though.

What do you guys think about this... it's pretty interesting. I think I like it.

Uh High huh? :monkey3 Wonder why I like em so much, yeah the goblin is a cute name for it I like to think its some weird kid or puppet when I listen to it, but its good stuff as for Kanye its like yeah you can sing now get back to your rapping damn it!

This is the obvious, but Eminem wasn't mentioned by anyone?

Also, in a completely non rap, but meaningful lyric department, try these rock/metal albums sometime.

Fates Warning (Perfect Symmetry)
Pain of Salvation (The Perfect Element)
Rush (Subdivisions)

The first Eminem album was pretty good. Saw him in concert back in the day but lost a lot of interest since he was too messed up to preform but about 2 songs.

I need some help finding some great Rap music. However I must warn you all that I am picky. I don't just want to listen to some endless dribble from some punk rapper talking about drugs and guns. It's a waste, and most of it's fake. I don't want to listen to some rapper pretending to be hard- I want insight and meaning. Let me know who fits this bill if you can. Thanks!

You ask for the impossible...:banghead

This I can definitely help you with Rory, no party raps or crunk music here buddy, just good old fashioned beats and rhymes. Just ask Bagels, Ironfingaz and Pitu, they all like the same stuff as I do. Just gimme some time as I'm a bit busy at work and I'll hook you up.

You've got some great taste in Hip-Hop there man. :rock If you liked those, there is plenty of underground stuff you might like.

Remember guys, RAP is what they do, HIP-HOP is the music.

I love old school hip-hop (mainly Run DMC), feel free to hit me up with a PM with any suggestions you think I might like.

My favorite music is what I consider skunk rock. A mix of punk and ska.

Most of the popular stuff out there can't be listened to. I think when a rapper can transcend past the cliches of the genre then something worth listening to is created.

When most hip hop songs are filled with drug dealing, sexual conquests, and extraneous violence i lose interest quickly. I have been looking for philosophical and introverted hip hop. While I know thug life is real and people are getting shot at I think there's more to the story and it could definitely be phrased more cleverly and intellectually in a song.
