Not meaning to be a butt here, but why rap? Doesn't rock, metal, hell even some old school country (not this new Nashville crap) have some good venting music? Just curious.

This isn't a message group but check out Handsome Boy Modeling School for pure hip-hop. Also the name was taken from Chris Elliott's show "Get A Life" - it was when he decided to be a model and he went to the Handsome Boy Modeling School.

Anyone who references Get A Life is the sh@# in my book. It's Prince Paul and Dan the Automator those guys rule. Also check out Coldcut again it's not about the message it's just pure hip hop.

check out Immortal Technique.

''Dance With The Devil'' will get you thinking.

a truly great underground rapper.

I was just about to suggest Immortal Technique, he's got some great stuff. One of my favorites is "You Never Know": https://de.youtube.com/watch?v=G3QDpy_OXWE

In case any of you understand some german, or are just curious to listen to some foreign stuff, you should check this out: https://de.youtube.com/watch?v=q7eSzDgEcl4

Or some more conscious rap, from one of my favorite rappers from Germany, 'Prinz Pi' (don't let the picture in the vid fool you): https://de.youtube.com/watch?v=iSBwnYczNF4

If your looking for great international Hip-Hop then i suggest Saian Supa Crew and IAM. They're both from France. I can't understand a word they're saying but s^^^ is hot :rock

We're helping Rory finding some Hip-Hop music he would like :lecture

BTW, Rory, find anything you like yet?

Tons man, TONS! :rock Thank you guys. I am going to be checking out Atmosphere first. I really like what I have heard so far.

As far as why rap is concerned, I am just a fan of all music as long as it has real emotion and soul in it. My music collection is so eclectic that I think a fan of any genre could come in and choose a few things from it and be content. At this point I don't even know what type of music I prefer because in general it's all relative. all the labels and sterotypes vanish from my mind if the artist lays down quality work.

I have been meaning to find some quality hip-hop for forever. The old school Gym Class Heroes finally pushed my desire over the edge.

I need some help finding some great Rap music. However I must warn you all that I am picky. I don't just want to listen to some endless dribble from some punk rapper talking about drugs and guns. It's a waste, and most of it's fake. I don't want to listen to some rapper pretending to be hard- I want insight and meaning. Let me know who fits this bill if you can. Thanks!

Easy---

There isn't any, that's why it's called "Rap".

Have you tried Saul Williams? His last album was produced my Trent Reznor.

No but this is pretty tight. I will have to check him out.

Yeah, those guys are dope all right! For those that don't know, Prince Paul did some of De La Soul's early albums and Dan the Automator is a DJ and one of the musical mastermind's behind the Gorillaz...

MF DOOM, Mr lif

Common and Talib Kweli are really good.
