The Barrens 5/10

Average psychological horror and I saw the ending coming half way through. Still it was watchable and was clearly low budget.

Mad Men series 1-4 9/10

I didn't think this would be a series I would enjoy but I was quickly pulled in. Great stuff.

This is QT's masterpiece imo.

I have to watch this again. I was let down when I saw it in the theaters. Too much German woman talking and talking and talking... I know that is QTs thing but I did not find what they were talking about all that interesting.

Not enough IB in the IB movie.

Also did not care for the fantasy aspect of it.

But like I said I have to watch it again. I own it but never feel like sitting through it.

Wow. I don't even know where to begin.

The girls Lawyer forgetting to mention there was a 6 foot 4 mentally ill serial killer downstairs. " DUH , didn't you read the letter ". I can't believe they actually put that in the movie.

The terrible CGI and overuse of it even in places it clearly wasn't needed.

The pointless side story of the guy cheating on his girlfriend even though she never finds out and they both die anyway.

The cop who didn't care who killed who and then the next minute was trying to be the hero. He kept switching sides !. He must suffer from schizophrenia I suppose.

The annoying Mayor being more of a bad guy than Leatherface himself.

The entire town being worse people than Leatherface and his family.

The worst part of all. Leatherface turning into the good guy and saving the day, we don't want to sympathize with Leatherface !.

Oh no , hang on the worst part of all. The girl making the guys dinner who just killed all three of her best friends three hours earlier.

This was so bad. It reminded me more of the Adams family than TCM. AVOID.

Saw Furiuos 6 last night. Movie was decent until the plane chase. I was wondering:
1. How long is the runway?
2. With all the high tech gaggets, why still using walkie talkie while driving in a super high speed? Can't afford headsets?
3. One of the pilots said " carring too much weight..." Really?! He is flying a C-17 Hercules.

You're not alone. I must have missed something because it seems the majority liked it. I am just not seeing what the big appeal was.

He is flying a C-17 Hercules.

Actually, he was flying an Antonov AN-124. (I think). Still it's one of the biggest cargoplanes on the earth so yeah... don't know the payload of these things, but I guess it's more than a couple of people and cars.




The Hangover Part III - 7/10
After all the negative things I heard about it, I liked it quite a bit. It sure as hell was better than Part II. At least this one wasn't a perfect copy.
The story is a bit darker, the jokes are less in quantity, but I found it very entertaining nonetheless.

Another superb Jeff Nichols film! Fast becoming one of my favourite directors.

Great performances from all the cast.

Had a 'Stand By Me' vibe about it.

Only slight critique I had was it seemed a little long and slightly slow in places. That was only a very minor critique however and this is sure to be up there as one of my favourites of 2013.
