Oh and since every one else is ranking the Ring films.

Fellowship of the Ring - 10 out of 10
Return of the King - 8.5 out of 10
An Unexpected Journey - 7.5 out of 10
The Two Towers - 7 out of 10

Other then AUJ all are Extended versions.

Hellboy: 6/10

+Ron Perlman born for the role, first film I truly started appreciating him
+Guillermo del Toro is the only director who could bring alive Mignolia's work
+Great effects, costumes and makeup. Besides Abe and Red, Kroenen looked fantastic and Sammael looked real
+Great job dealing with morals and choices forced on us

-Director's cut is a bit long, love triangle subplot drags
-PG-13 rating, could of used R imo. Where blood should be, it's replaced by gimmicks, like gumball machine splattering gumballs
-Finale battle was a bit of a letdown

Eh. I mean, the books aren't THAT gory aside from a few parts. As far as I remember.

I'm fine with the PG-13. It keeps it fun. Light. Other words, not dour and depressing. :lol

Needs to be very dark and serious. In other words, not childish and silly with extra CelticPeener cheese.

The Hobbit - 7/10

Third time watching it and it's only getting worse for me with each viewing.

Did not happen with Fellowship but that is what happened with me with TTT and ROTK.

They both have now settled into their numerical rankings but they have not held their own as well as FOTR has.

Only seen Hobbit three times... Still enjoy it just fine.

I still enjoy the LotR trilogy just as much as I always have. They feel like one big movie to me.

There's just something about The Hobbit that keeps turning me away. There are several minor details that bug me about it, but I can't put my finger on what the main issue is.

I love them as a whole.. I still think ROTK is great... I struggle with TTT. Fellowship is Perfect for me..

Perhaps you problem with the Hobbit is the Falling bridge scene (basically the Hobbits equivalent of the brontosaurus scene in King Kong) That could slowly kill the film for me :)

A book for children shouldn't be dark and serious. You sad sack of writhing hate.

That scene was really too much. Probably the scene I disliked the most. Felt like something out of a Disney movie. I also think all the action scenes in general were too bloated, and am in a minority when I thought the first hour was the best part. Still really enjoyed the film.

I know what you are saying, but the film had some very dark parts too, like for example Azog. It might have been better for Jackson to stick a little closer to one tone.

Indeed. He should've stuck with the light hearted tone. The worst stuff for me was when it shifted into LOTR territory.

I don't want super happy fun time stuff....I just want something that exists to entertain, and not to make you feel like **** like recent blockbusters have.
