I can't stand people that some people don't think a movie can be rated a perfect 10. I remember Roger Ebert giving films four states all the time. He and Gene Siskell gave things two thumbs up. I guess those were all wrong and should have all been 3.5 stars or only one thumb up?

True, a movie may not be perfect, but can't we overlook the flaws and just enjoy them 100%? Here are the first things that pop into my head as perfect 10s.

Star Wars - 10/10
The Empire Strikes Back - 10/10
Raiders of the Lost Ark - 10/10
Batman Begins - 10/10
The Dark Knight - 10/10
Inception - 10/10
The Prestige -10/10
Memento - 10/10
Gladiator - 10/10
Casino Royale - 10/10
The Bourne Trilogy - 10/10
Toy Story Trilogy - 10/10

Come on dude, not even JAWS is a 10 (almost though). :lol

I just caught Requiem For A Dream for the first time since 2000 - & man, I forgot just how intense this film was. Strong performances, great cast / story, the subject matter is pretty timeless, & great tone & direction. I'm also a big fan of Jennifer Connelly. :love

8 /10 :duff

I can't watch Requiem anymore, it's just too ******* depressing and bleak. Although it's a fantastic film.

I wasn't trying to push anyone's buttons.. :lol

Really K07, you can't stand me?

Righteo then.

I can't stand people that some people don't think a movie can be rated a perfect 10.

Please reread my horribly constructed sentence and strike out the first "people." I can stand you but I do grow tired of coming in here and seeing the constant picking on 10/10 ratings. Movies are meant to be enjoyed. The cynical attitudes people have on the internet towards movies (and to the overpriced collectibles that we buy) is growing old. What would you rate Jaws if not 10/10? I assume that is your favorite movie since you brought it up. What moments of that movie pull you out of your sheer enjoyment and make you realize it's not perfect? All the movies I listed are perfect in the sense that when I put them in and rewatch them countless times, I never grow bored and I'm always captivated by what I see on screen. Does that mean there should be no criticism of movies or low ratings? Not at all. You'll notice that I left RotJ and TDKR off my list. Those are great movies to me but there are some things I do take issue with that do make me roll my eyes that I wish they'd done differently.

I didn't mean to push your buttons either but I feel every time I pop into this specific thread (which is not as regularly as other threads on SSF), someone is criticizing someone's 10/10 score. I just don't get that. :dunno

So my consolation is that 'you can stand me'? At least no one can say you're not a seasoned diplomat. :lol

Anyway, all good. As I pointed out in not so many words earlier, I was just being conversational & pleasant, nothing more. I'm one of the nicer members around here; I avoid arguments wherever possible, & the extent of my exchanges are some light ribbing & sillyness. I thought maybe Chaserfan was going to hit me with a conversational type response.. hmm. Next thing, I'm being called the internet police & that I'm shining the flashlight on folks. Come on, FFS.. :lol

It really seems like you to have to tread on eggshells with some people.. why? I know context can be lost in type sometimes - but really, there are understandably ambiguous 'were they being cool or having a dig?' type posts - & there are obvious obnoxious quips.

I don't know, the art of conversation looks like a dying art on internet forums - you're either labelled a troll, a mini mod, or a cupcake. :huh

been having "nolan november" before I see Interstellar :lol

Batman Begins: 9.5/10

pretty much the perfect batman flick.

The Prestige: 9/10

Always loved this one.

Momento: 8.5/10

The Dark Knight: 10/10

pretty much a perfect flick.

Interstellar 9/10

Some want to pick this thing to death but it's a highly enjoyable flick. Lots of good emotional moments and a little humor mixed in.

Haven't seen that in millenia, would love to see it again because I've been bowling for the past few years (drunk bowling, not any level of professionalism)
