Larry Crowne. 6/10.

I was put off watching this by that awful, cheesy poster campaign for it & I wrote it off as a typical Julia Roberts rom-com, which I tend to avoid like the proverbial plague, but I thought that the relationship between the two leads was pretty well handled & nowhere near as schmaltzy as I thought it was going to be. Although, the riding around in a pack on scooters thing started to grate on me. It does help that I'm a big Tom Hanks fan, though, & I thought that Bryan Cranston was wonderfully sleazy in this. Plus, I found myself falling in love with Gugu Mbatha-Raw:love during the film, who I was not familiar with, at all.

I quite enjoyed this for the simple throwaway fun that it was intended to be & I'm surprised that it was so poorly received with such vitriol by many film critics.

Nightmare on Elm Street (entire franchise) - 4/10

Freddy vs Jason - 3/10

It should have been Michael vs Jason. And maybe Freddy vs Chucky or Leprechaun... or Leprechaun vs Chucky.

Not sure who Leatherface could fight, seeing as how he's human with no supernatural abilities. Pinhead, Chucky, Michael, Jason, Freddy, Leprechaun - they'd all be way too powerful for him. Maybe Ghostface? Not sure how that would work though. Texas Chainsaw Massacre is more hardcore horror (excluding some of the goofy sequels) whereas Scream is satire.

Not sure who would be a good match for Pinhead either. I guess Freddy or Leprechaun out of all the ones I've seen so far.

Hmmm...maybe Ash from Evil Dead? He kills demons, and Pinhead is exactly that.

Anyway, time for the Pumpkinhead series and the last Evil Dead film (Army of Darkness). :yess:

Fellowship of the Ring Extended Edition 10/10

Damn good movie. Interesting to watch after seeing UJ and DoS.

Fellowship is both my favourite theatrical and extended LOTR movie. Good to see you liked it! :)

Anyway, time for the Pumpkinhead series and the last Evil Dead film (Army of Darkness). :yess:

You've got a treat in store for you. Army of Darkness is great fun.

The Lego Movie - 9/10

Such a cool movie with a great message about imagination, self confidence and well anarchy

The Lego Movie is such a charming movie!

I rewatched Die Hard tonight for the how-many-eth time. Still 10/10 :lol

Die Hard - 8.7/10

(I wish Die Hard 3 was the last one...)

I'll use it again if I have to. :lol Rapunzel is a total babe. :lecture

Burn After Reading -- 8/10. Funnier than I expected, actually. It usually takes me a couple of viewings to get Coen brothers' movies. Some, I've seen a few times and still haven't quite gotten. This one, I get.

It's kind of an anti-spy movie ... a bunch of unimportant amoral people with no skills undertaking a low-stakes espionage game that doesn't end well. It was pretty clear that the parts were written for specific actors -- Clooney is surprisingly good as a fast-talking, jittery sleaze-bag, Malkovitch is pretty much playing himself, and Pitt was hilarious as a high-energy personal trainer.

Best character in the whole thing was JK Simmons in a cameo as a sharp, high-ranking CIA guy trying to figure out what the hell is going on. He ends-up essentially being the voice of the audience in his couple of short scenes.

Offbeat, but good. Which is all you can expect out of the Coens.

I couldn't survive 2 minutes of No. 2, so don't know how I could survive one of 3. I'll be avoiding that movie like the plague.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the first two films because I thought they were boring, but this one had a lot of action and it was cool seeing Arnold, Harrison Ford, and Mel Gibson as the villain. Snipes and Banderas were kind of fun to watch. There's nothing believable about the action, but I thought it was entertaining if you don't expect much and look at it as silly action film. Also, Stallone recruits a new team, so they do that 90's cliché where they show each new character showing off their skills as Stallone hires them one by one for a mission...:lol

I watched the expendables 3 last, too. I really like the films. I don't take them seriously. I laugh at them and admire the fight scenes and the big cast on screen.

I thought 3 was a complete mixed bag. There are some great bits but there are some awful bits, particularly the whole Stallone recruiting his new team part. Especially the female mma fighter. That part was just pure cringe worthy. There's some kinda special effect as she's walking through the bar - just watch it. You'll see what I mean. In fact the whole new team are crap and pointless and dull. And although the humour isn't there as much as in the previous two, I felt the humour that was there was a lot better. It wasn't as forced. Banderas was quality :lol truly funny. As were ford and Arnie (more so on the outtakes) Gibson was pretty great as the villain if a little underused. I also loved the Ducati panigale R motorbike statham rides in this one.!

I'd go with the expendables no.1 - 8/10
No.2 - 7/10
and no.3 - 6/10.

I've also recently seen the hunger games mockingjay part one. I'm into those films. I liked the eerie feel to this one. 8/10.
