-he was actually hit by that training orb
-that was the peak of his abilities in that movie
-Rey doesn't get hurt or injured once in the entire movie, against more ferocious stormtroopers, against tie fighters, against pseudo sith lords. All these direct confrontations. Not once.

Nah, she's a Mary Sue. I don't get how some people don't see she is one.

Umm.... the peak of Luke's ability is when he makes a impossible shot to destroy the death star using the force with hardly any training.

I also like how some people complain about Rey being a good pilot with "no training".... but yet Luke hopes into a starfighter, flies through the trench, and hits an impossible shot....

She had prior training, mind wipe by luke
Incredibly stupid fan theory that contradicts the film since she was left on Jackhoo at the age of five. It's also completely unbelievable that not only she survived and didn't end up as a slave, but became talanted mechanic, pilot and fighter. She's a MS and has no character unless the next film will get some damage control done in terms of writing.

Pirates of the Caribbean - On Stranger Tides.

That movie really just felt "bleh". Ruined the Barbossa Character. McShane was good as Blackbeard, but the way he could control the ship was lame. Penelope Cruz (to me) looks like some sort of donkey hybrid woman. The story was a bit weak too, just really didn't feel it.
Overall the plot had good ideas but the writing and directing sucked ass for 2/3.
The whole "mermaid's tear" subplot was completely pointless and its characters were out of place. Because of that wasted script/screen time, Blackbeard haven't got enough attention and felt like a shoehorned villain with little personality or charm. Penelope Cruz was pregnant so her physical appearance was completely ruined.

Barbossa was freaking great, I re-watched this film several times only because of him! :lol

Good points actually, but I still quite like her character so far. Daisy is just so adorable. :lol

It wasn't an impossible shot, just very difficult. The peak of his ability was after his training with Yoda when he's finally capable of defeating Vader in a fight, not making a difficult shot after receiving guidance from Obi Wan and some training in the beginning of the film where Luke was blind and trusting his instincts and the force as instructed by Obi Wan, which foreshadows exactly what he had to do at the end of the film. Very different from little miss perfect in TFA. At no point in that film does she receive any guidance or basic knowledge of how the force works or how to use it, like Luke in ANH.

I'm sure Disney is aware of the criticism and will fix it in the next film with some throw away line or an explanation regarding Rey's "mysterious" past. They'll probably mention her jedi training or something like that. Better late than never.

Raiders of the Lost Ark - 9.8/10

This is a near perfect movie for me. I only have one issue that has bugged me since I was a kid. When Indy gets on the sub, where the hell does he go once it dives?

In the comic book adaptation, they show Indy tying himself with his whip to the periscope which stays above the water.

And I guess they kinda filmed that too:

It's funny I never questioned what happens to Indy when I was a kid, though. I guess I never realized that the sub ever submerged.

I meant that in regards to ANH the peak of his abilities was to do that. Even then, he wasn't strong enough to defeat Vader in my opinion. I always thought Vader held back.

You think he held back in ROTJ? Hmm...he was conflicted by the time he fought Luke, so it's possible Luke won that fight long before they actually fought. I never thought about that...then again Luke was pretty angry at that point.

The peak of his abilities as a Jedi. He was only asisted by the force in a matter he was actually an expert on, which was being a pilot.

I don't have a problem with Rey being a good pilot, I figured it comes with the trade if I suspend disbelief a little, it only looks bad when added to the long list of things she excels at.

Boom! You just solved a decades old headache. Thanks!

I just didn't like the thought of Barbossa going semi-legit. One thing I will say is that Geoffrey Rush is an A+ actor without doubt. I think the mermaid sub-blot was a waste. I thought they were executed well and if used differently would have been much better. I agree that it all just felt crammed together and underdeveloped. :duff

Also Jack Sparrow looks like crap in that film. They made his hair longer with a bunch of colors and they put so much crap on him that he looked like a cheap hooker.
