It's clear we just disagree on a lot of things when it comes to P2. But hey, we can agree that P2 is better than AVPR :lol

It has nothing to do with AVP, I love the Aztecs and Mayans, so it wasn't that. It's the fact of knowing about them.

No I would not, by removing scared human characters the predator loses a big chunk of its charm imo, it happened with Predators, the whole Superpredator thing was super retarded :lol

I don't think it's limiting at all, hell, there's nothing wrong with repeating the formula when the formula is great, you keep saying how P2 is just a rehash, and it may be true at core, but it also has tons of original stuff sprinkled on top. Jace Madan makes an excellent point about it.

The Aztecs and Mayans and the historical aspect was alright and interesting, but my problem is earth, just like the Thor films keep focusing on earth and the humans instead of other worlds, that's what I rather see with Predator. I'm not saying I want to see a Predator as a protagonist necessarily or teaming up with a human like in AVP, but I'd like to see what their planet looks like, given how technologically advance they are, yet they like to hunt humans on a primitive planet...how does their society work and how do they subsist as a world as a society? Do they conquer other planets? Are there wars with other species or with their own kind? Are the hunters only a small group of elite Predators and that's how they earn their rank or are those Hunters part of the "high society" (like rich people) and they hunt "inferior" species for fun. Are there humans on their planets since they have been interacting with humans for so long? So many questions and possibilities to make different kind of films using the Predator species. I wouldn't mind a film also exploring the historical aspect of Predators on earth...that's interesting too.

I like to imagine the Predators as a race that is very old and made a lot of advancements in all forms of technology and waged a lot of wars and conquered a lot of planets. They built their entire society around the idea of respect and honor, and as the galactic unopposed force they were, they spread knowledge of their deeds and accomplishments around. With no one left to really pose a challenge, they turned to hunting the galaxy's worst and most dangerous prey as a way to keep their reputation and help define great individuals. Eventually either through the passage of time, in fighting, or getting their butt kicked by a force bigger and badder than them (maybe Xeno infestation?), their influence and power declined, and they spread out throughout the galaxy trying to desperately relive their old glory days, but instead of fighting wars or conquering planets in a way they wer no longer equipped to do, they used the hunt.

As the Predators are seen to be very long-lived, I'd imagine they separated into clans and groups that didn't really expand, and as old age and death in combat dwindled their numbers, the remaining members of the species cling to their ways in secret, hunting and gathering trophies while remaining hidden from the rest of the universe at large, going to great lengths to prevent their technology and presence from being known by other species. So the remaining Predators hunt and gain honor within their society, as well as recognizing great and worthy prey that manage to elude or defeat them.

That's what I want to see in a sequel...well, all that probably can't fit in one movie, but still, that would be great. :clap

S'alright, as long as you don't get sassy on me, it hurt my feelings :monkey2

I don't know, it would take a complete genius to pull that off and not fail completely, because the Predator is utterly original, and everything about it needs to be equally original, but who knows, Shane Black said P3 would be pretty refreshing, maybe they'll try something of what you want, I just hope they pull it off.

Justice League: War 7.5/10

I can't believe I enjoyed this as much as I did. I was absolutely prepared to hate it because of the cringe worthy clips I'd already seen. The movie definitely wasn't good from the very beginning but got better along the way. Some of the comedy made me laugh and some of it got my eyes rolling, but overall it was entertaining. Couldn't stand "thug Billy" or "Ryan Reynolds wannabe GL", but I got used to GL by the end of the movie and loved his interaction with Flash. Supes was kind of awful actually. Flash was perfect and Bats was pretty spot on except for the voice. WW was well animated but terribly written and voice acted. Cyborg steals the movie a little bit. The big boss battle with Darkseid was truly epic.
