Great list. They all got that same underlying formula that has never been replicated ever again. The last good cop film I can even think of is Training Day, but it's a different animal since it's not an action movie.

Training day was a great modern Cop movie, guess more Drama/Thriller than action.

There is the cop movies of the 70s, the best of them all, Dirty Harry and Magnum Force.
"Mans got to know his limitations."

Another good modern cop movie, the departed.. I liked it but I do think it's overrated. Not Scorsese's best but I'd say the academy gave him the best director Oscar because they knew they shafted him over all those years before. Had to give him what he deserved Better late than never.

I love when Pesci goes "okay okay okay.." Cracks me up. Lethal weapon 2 is more of a comedy to me, reminds me of another well done 80s cop sequel Beverly Hills cop 2.

Nothing like the cop action/comedies of the 80s and 90s

48 hours
Beverly Hills cop
Beverly Hills cop 2
Lethal weapon
Lethal weapon 2
Lethal weapon 3
To live and die in LA
Point break (Utah, get me two!)
Die hard

I'm sure I'm missing more.

Another good Eddie Murphy cop movie that gets overlooked is Metro.

Though not as good as the buddy cop movies above I'd add
Bad Boys
Bulletproof (Sandler when he was funny and Damon Wayans)
Die Hard With a Vengeance

For serious cop movies I'd add LA Confidential.

Ep II the absolute worst- I think TPM is the best of the PT(unpopular choice I know) despite horrendous Anakin- unforgivable and Jar Jar is OK as comic relief.

I mentioned this earlier.

Despite the Gungans & little Ani, it still creams the other two movies.

It feels the most 'SW' of the three all day long.

The Revenant - 10/10

I can't say enough good things about this movie, it was an amazing, mesmerizing film. The story, direction, camera work and acting were just fantastic. Deserved all the praise it got, and then some.

When I buy this, it will be a 4K disc.

Ichi - 7/10

A somewhat modern spin-off of Zatoichi. The style of the movie was handled well, for the most part, and it was reminiscent of the old Zatoichi movies. Although, I found that the gratuitous use of slow-motion shots deprived the visceral nature of the swordplay that was found in the previous films. Haruka Ayase and Takao Osawa gave great performances for their roles.

Lisa Gerrard was an EXTREMELY odd choice as a composer, to say the least.

Ok, everybody's getting a bit silly here with the 10's. I know this can't be a reaction to me giving The Revenant a 10, because that deserved it, but c'mon JW, AOU? I know The Heat has to be sarcasm as it is one of the worst movies made in the last 20 years.
