Star Wars: A New Hope (despecialized) - 8/10
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (despecialized) - 10/10

I can't say what hasn't already been said about these movies. They're absolutely brilliant, and watching the non-special edition versions for the first time made me appreciate them even more. The pacing of the stories were done beautifully, and they just drew me, in a way that was never accomplished by any film in the PT.

While I was never huge on Star Wars, I made an effort to track the Depscecialized Edition down when I was planning to rewatch the trilogy again. It's those or nothing for me. I really don't mind the countless tweaks Lucas has made PROVIDED he allows fans to watch the original theatrical versions. I mean, those are the versions that people fell in love with in the first place, aren't they not?

I would GLADLY pay premium for the unaltered trilogy but since my money's no good to Disney... :dunno

I really enjoyed The Hateful Eight and bought it for my bluray collection right after watching, Although, it is my least favorite Tarantino film besides Death Proof and this is coming from a huge Quentin fan, I'd rank them......

Pulp Fiction
Reservoir Dogs
Inglorious Basterds
Django Unchained
Jackie Brown
Kill Bill
The Hateful Eight
Death Proof

Good list. My ranking.

Pulp Fiction
Kill Bill
Reservoir Dogs
Inglorious Basterds

Blade Runner: Theatrical Cut 8.2/10

I don't remember if I'd seen this version before but it was a bit shocking how bored I was through a large chunk of this film. Then there's that one awful mistake with the dubbing in the scene with the snake maker, the somewhat dated special effects, and some bad dialogue. It's still got some great visuals though, and good performances from Ford, Olmos, and Hauer. Thankfully, the final act is still as intense as I remembered it.

I own all the versions, but I think I've only ever watched the theatrical. What version do you think is the best?

I've only seen it on cable TV and network TV years ago. It could be that the movie just blew me away when I was younger or those were different versions. I dunno.

I grew up with the theatrical cut and had watched it that way from probably 1983 (on video) til the director's cut came out, so I have a soft spot for the theatrical cut. I know people say HF sounds "bored" in his voiceover, but I always saw it as part of the character. He was world weary and as he says in the movie: "I was quit when I come in here, Bryant, I'm twice as quit now."

I love quoting it! "They don't advertise for killers in the newspaper. That was my profession. Ex-cop. Ex-blade runner. Ex-killer."

Still love it though--any and all versions. I had gotten the comic adaptation (the black and white paperback size one) when the movie came out so I had "read" the movie countless of times before I ever even saw it. My mom wouldn't take me to see it when it came out (probably knew it was violent), so my older cousin eventually rented it for me. I remember growing up (I finally saw it when I was 11), no one I knew had watched it and if they knew about it then they would just scoff or sneer at it. It wasn't til high school that I met a couple of people who had actually seen it. And the DC came out when I was in college so we were able to watch it on the big screen.

MIDNIGHT SPECIAL. A great cast and story up until the end just didnt sit well or like other then the end loved the odd story. I dont what to rate this one :dunno ???

The Blind Swordsman: Zatoichi 7.1/10
Never saw this one before but I remember seeing the good reviews when it came out. Finally decided to watch it and I'm not sure if I liked it or not.

You mean the one by/with Takeshi Kitano? It's an awesome film, great mix of his style and good Japanese entertainment.

Brooklyn: 9/10

It was surprisingly really good and enjoyable. I was expecting some "deep" drama, but I got an actually well-made, sweet and heartfelt flick.

Scarface (1983) 9/10
