I will admit that I enjoyed ID4 the first time I saw it, but after the first time, I nearly checked myself in to have my head examined to figure out why. ID4 is better than Star Wars, but only Star Wars : Attack of the Clones.

To me, it is an awful movie with no redeeming qualities.

ID4 certainly had a satisfying ending, which TFA didn't.
Agreed.

And better story, and better characters, and more emotional moments, better action, etc etc. imo.

That's alright I was just baiting you -ish :lol cause I do think it's better than TFA though, and Attack of the clones, and Phantom Menace, and I love the Phantom Menace. I think it's pretty underrated because of the time it was released.

Independence Day - 7.5/10 I forgot how well made this movie was. And it's got everything, this is a blockbuster by definition and it manages to be a competent low-key sci-fi too, amidst the science-fantasy.

Yup, much better than The Force Awakens, objectively.

Oh good we've entered the "IQ's dropped sharply when I was away" phase of ID4 praise. Good times. ;)

I also hear that Van Helsing was better than The Empire Strikes Back and that Transformers Revenge of the Fallen is finally being recognized as a misunderstood masterpiece.

ID4 vs. the Prequels. Wow, that's a tough one. They really are on par with one another. ID4, The Fifth Element, and TPM. All clearly want to be Star Wars on some level and all have some interesting visuals but are ultimately hollow and filled with ****y Jar Jar Binks type characters.

Thinking TFA was good. Now that's an IQ skydive :lol

Putting TFA in the same level as Empire :rotfl

TFA certainly makes ID4 look like Empire though.

Fixed for accuracy.

Star Trek: Generations - 7/10

If only it was better written and directed...
Such a magnificent soundtrack, best one in the entire film series.

Yeah great music by Dennis McCarthy. They never got him back, I suppose because they really felt the TNG theme was missing and obviously that was Jerry Goldsmith's work.

I tried giving Star Trek a chance by revisiting the original film a few months back. Watched STI and II and liked them well enough but then I think TFA hit blu-ray and that ended that little venture. :lol I should check out III again soon, I know people have said "only the even Trek films are good" but I've always liked that one. Felt like a harsh and pulpy Trek movie that felt right at home in the year that also released Temple of Doom and Terminator.

Star Wars The Force Awakens - 8/10

Caught it again yesterday at home. Second viewing on Blu, three times in the theater. I like it a little more each time I see it. John and Daisy have great chemistry. I'm warming up to Kylo as being a great villain but I'm really looking forward to seeing how he developes.

Any time I can pop a movie in at home that I've seen already and still be thoroughly entertained I'll give it high marks. TFA is highly rewatchable for me.

Deep Space Nine S1 - 7,5/10
Deep Space Nine S2 - 7,5/10
Deep Space Nine S3 - 8,5/10

I like all of the original crew movies. Even the bad ones.
Kirk, Spock and Bones camping even. Row dat boat.
Same.
Heck, I like Final Frontier more than Undiscovered Country because it was a fun camp fest.

Green Room - 7/10

Movie started out great and then kind of turned into a generic thriller but overall I enjoyed it. Anton Yelchin also gave a solid final performance.

Death Wish - 6/10

Batman v Superman ultimate cut - 6/10

I don't hate the movie but I don't think it's very good either. I like it more than MOS but MOS was better and I also think that movie was bad :lol

Deadpool - 7/10

The Force Awakens - 6/10

A very average film in all areas.

Rambo: First Blood part II - 3.8/5

Still one of my favorite 80's action movies. I wish James Cameron's original intro with Rambo in a mental institution working out had been used instead, but I'm glad Cameron used it in Terminator 2, even if it made more sense in Rambo II. :dunno

It's still fun watching Stallone in his physical prime killing bad guys :D

The shallows . A short story version of jaws give a 4.

INDEPENCE DAY 2. I wanted to like but just cant get back magic as 1st movie give a 5. At least Smith sat this one out thankfully.
