Race. Stephen James & Jason Sudeikis in this story of Olympic Medal winner Jesse Owens.

A ton of heart and courage in 1936's Germany Olympic Game's. Just watching Jesse Owens compete against Germany & Nazi's in this Olympics, i felt scared just watching this remake of history. I could not imagine how actually scary it would have been to be there. This was right before world war 2 with Adolph and Nazi party looking on. I give a 10 for heart n courage to Jesse Owens. :clap:clap:clap

I enjoyed this one too. :clap

Knock Knock. 1/10. Keanu Reeves bangs a couple of annoying chicks in a plot more befitting Penthouse Forum ... then they harass him, torture him, and ruin his life. For no reason, best I can tell. Dear Lord, what an embarrassing spectacle. Not even the nudity was capable of saving this dreck. My wife likes 'scary' suspense movies, so I'll occasionally suffer something like this. Not sure who wrote this drivel, but the dialogue was about as clever as a 4th grader's short story, and the plot was worse. Keanu Reeves is incapable of playing a family man with genuine emotion. He's find as a stoic badass in John Wick or as a loner hacker turned ninja in The Matrix. He was a complete mismatch for this thing. And, I got the feeling the two girls were supposed to be attractive and alluring -- which might've worked if I'd muted the dialogue -- but they weren't. I'd've just made 'em wait on the porch in the rain.

The Paper Chase. 4/10. Entertaining ... but not in a good way. Another one of those movies that's so insufferable that I had trouble looking away. Bunch of pedantic, self-important law students suffer from a chronic lack of perspective during their first year of law school. Not a likable character in the lot.

I went to law school. Nobody acts like that. They spend the entire movie gossiping, spying, and obsessing over the personal life of this one pompous professor ... as if the basic contract law class he's teaching them is truly the collected wisdom passed through the generations to their not-so-remarkable minds. Good grief, it's contract law. Y'know ... the crap Judge Judy deals with every afternoon on Channel 4. Good lord.

Inception. 10/10.
Came on IFC this afternoon. Been a while since I'd seen it. I'd forgotten what a badass movie it was.

SnakeDoc

Dorm Daze 2: 7/10, forgot how the comedy is cheesy but the actors deliver it memorably.

The Curse of Downers grove: 5/10

Interesting is underselling it :lol I don't quite like the movies that deal with those topics, I find them boring, but the way Denis delivers the message, wow.

It was essentially a character piece and an existential drama in a way, but it was presented as a thriller, with the end result being a beautiful mix of both. Plus, creepy CGI spiders, 'cause everything is scarier with creepy CGI spiders.

I know what it's about, it wasn't that in a way, it was very much that, I just don't watch many movies about drama, infidelity and such by choice, this one tricked me into it and I don't mind :lol

Reminded me to Jacob's Ladder a little bit.

Yeah, I know, I was just making a remark about how it was presented (mostly as a thriller) and what it actually ended up being. I didn't even know that it existed, I just stumbled upon it on Gylenhaal's IMDB page.

I think you're gonna like the rest of Villeneuve's movies if you were tickled by the twist in this one.

I think the twist in this movie, and the one in Arrival are the biggest ones, but the twist in Sicario is also pretty cool.

I really liked Sicario as well. It was definitely darker, but it was also more "real", dealing with more common issues. Arrival I'll probably have to wait until it hits Blu-Ray, 'cause I really don't have the time to go the theater right now. Mid-Terms are in 2 months, the curiculum is ~4000pg and we just got books, so, yeah...
