MIDNIGHT RUN. Deniro is bad ass in this oldschool cop /bounty hunter movie. I forgot actor John Ashton a.k.a Tagert from beverlly hills cop actor was in this as another cool bounty hunter. He Ashton shine's hi in this one with Deniro. A pure 10 for a almost 30 yr old movie.

Why him ?

James Franco Brian Cranston in this messed up quick comedy not bad give a 5. A few scarring bits lol worth a watch.

Jeff Bridges double feature. Hell or High Water and The Little Prince - 7.5/10

Both quite good for different reasons, it's a shame neither saw a wider theatrical release.

The animation for TLP was stunning at times, but while the story was good, I felt it needed a tighter focus.

Edit - Just looked it up, and appears HOHW got a decent sized release, somehow it flew below my radar and I never heard of it until its video release.

I watched the first episode yesterday. The green screen is shocking, and overused, but apart from that it's good so far.
I just finished it today. The green screen was definitely a style choice in this case. Not from lack of budget. I personally didn't mind it, it reminded me of The Grand Budapest Hotel. I could see how it may offset some peope though.

It was pretty bad the first episode, but they transfer to more practical sets once Reptile Room comes up.

Silence 6.5/10 based on the 1966 novel by Shusaku Endo.. interesting story about christian faith and Jesuit's in Japan in the 1600's.Some very good acting but this film is too long. Not as brutal or as good as The Mission from 1986 about Jesuit's in the Amazon.

I've been meaning to rent this and check it out, I've heard a lot of mixed things.

Is it at all related to the first Cloverfield?

Completely separate. But you have to go into this one with a clean slate.
Don't expect any relation to the first movie because there is none.

This movie has it's issues, but I think a big problem is that they used the name "Cloverfield" in it's title, and naturally, people will look for how it relates to the story of the first movie.
