Hail Caesar! - 5.5/10

Not poorly made, but a thing of little consequence. A comedy, but I may have laughed once.

I always liked the Coen brothers, but I don't think Ive enjoyed a film of theirs in quite some time. Last 2 before this being A Serious Man and Inside Llewyn Davis.

They ain't what they used to be. But the next film could always be something great. No Country came almost a decade after their previous monster, critical smashes Fargo and the Big Lebowski.

The Accountant 2: Count Harder

:lol:lol

I'm watching it tonight :D

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl: 9/10

I'm watching it tonight...also :D

Did I miss something (quite possible because I fell asleep twice during it) or did learning an alien language somehow give Amy Adams the ability to see through time itself..if so...erm..how would that happen? I have trouble with that.

It's a weak film. I rather watch The Arrival with Charlie Sheen.

*waits for Gaspar*

Live by Night 3.5/10 even if this had been based on a True story it would not have helped this film.Anytime Ben is in a scene with a real actor it shows.Brendan Gleeson excellent as always.

The Accountant: 6/10

Good performances, good cinematography and all that but... twas predictable and kinda boring. I was expecting more. As far as recent action flicks go, John Wick remains the best. I get that this flick was leaning more towards the drama side, but eh. The worldbuilding was minimal (compared to John Wick, with the underground assassin hotel), the flashbacks were too short to really invest in the protagonist, and the secondary characters were bland. Good performances considering the material, but still, pretty bland.

I thought it was a good movie, but that was the issue I had with it as well. It's a cool concept, but how does learning a language give you time manipulation abilities?

PHANTOMS. Ben Affleck

I give a 3.
Pretty much a marvel venom like creature takes over a small town

The Lobster 4/10

I didn't care for this movie's plot at all. It was filmed reasonably well though, no shaky cam :yess:. Not sure why it gets all the praise that it does.

American History X 6/10
(good film in there somewhere, they just dropped the ball)

The Devils Rejects 0/10

Been a LONG while since I gave out a zero.....but this film is total trash...and it has 4/5 on Amazon ratings..

Bad acting? Check
Bad Effects? Check
Horrible mismatched soundtrack? Check
Horrendous plot? Check
Stupid Characters? Check

That ending with free bird playing? WTF was that all about...were we suppose to feel something for torturous serial killers? The were just "free spirits"? Rob Zombie needs to stop making films....they are just basically torture porn.

I would have turned it off ...but it was basically background while I worked on this guy...
