Great VR world but the plot derailed this movie for me.

So a private corporation is enslaving and physically torturing civilians because of their bad credit and the police are not notified why!

So the police arrive at end to arrest the bad guy but no one can notify the authorities that he’s keep prisoners and torturing them!

They were weak corporate villains with weak motivations and that female baddie was horribly written and portrayed.

Very good love story though.

The black girl who played Aech (was that his name) was very likable she had great charisma but really just her.

The VR bad guy was also cool.

By the car chase at the end in the real world I was done with that plot.

I never bought their evil plan just silly that they would do the things they did.

I never bought him holding a gun on Wade. .

How and where the VR was used made no sense it was all over the place.

No one would EVER wear real suits that would kill them while playing a videogame.

Gamers would allow getting punched in the nuts really.

Was that supposed to be a spiritual message at the end or am I going crazy lol

Why they would have the rights from TOHO to use the Godzilla name and character yet not give him his roar made no sense to me. You know any Godzilla avatar would have his classuc roar Mecha or not.

Unfortunately like King himself I was never a fan of that horror movie I was hoping it was Exorcist, F13th 1, Halloween 1 or The Thing but no such luck so it was all a snooze for me lol

Some great songs but needed more of them.

Yes the VR car race was very cool.

3D was just ok i’ve seen much better.

Another movie ruined by the villains.

I can't argue with most of what you said.. Thought the same thing about IOI being able to do whatever they wanted.

Very much agree about the villains and not buying into some of their actions.

So you won't be joining me for viewing #4 huh, lol. I like the idea of future corporations having their own militias. I could see the only reason the "real" cops getting to take Sorrento in was because he was publicly holding a gun on the most famous/beloved person on the planet, lol. Otherwise I could see IOI security showing up, outgunning the police, and politely requesting that they stand down.

But eh, as I said in my very first review that whole portion was pretty silly and Scooby Doo-ish. But not enough so that it diminished the two hours of awesome that came before. I see Wade getting the egg as the real end of the film with the rest just being a prolonged aftermath.

I enjoyed that VR villain quite a bit.

I thought the love story was cute.

Had the villain plot been integrated better with a clearer end goal it would’ve elevated the entire movie.

I mean IOI had a **** load of happy employees working there some horrible villain lol

Wade should’ve just taken the offer he had ZERO reasons not to take it I didn’t buy it for one second that he wouldn’t just accept it he had no reason not to.

The offer was given after Samantha told him about her father. It definitely is sketchy that he didn't take it, but after multiple views, Nolan isn't to be some Pierce villain of Logan or Joker, he's pretty much the principal from Ferris or Breakfast Club but with a **** ton of money.

Well I just bought a VR suit that squeezes my nuts until I vomit and pass out i’m going to use it on a VR game called “Squeeze My Nuts and Cheer”.

The suit itself didn't seem too off base, people will eat up peripherals when it comes to gaming. The suit probably does better in sales for nymphos hooking up. Or masochists like Rick that love that violence in Doom. To be brutally honest, I would legit buy that suit lol

True but you think there would be zone shut offs for VR combat so that you don’t get hurt in real life.

They don't necessarily get hurt, I think that most of it is psychological, while the receptors may do form of sensation. VR is a fickle thing.

People wanted real sensations....my guess is if you turn off your pain sensors you wouldn’t be allowed on Doom....

Actually the beginning montage showed several people playing on Planet Doom without those sensor suits (Wade's aunt's boyfriend, the mom on the couch, and the Japanese businessman.)
