Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Frozen - 4/10. Fairly silly outcome, but at least the set up was decent.

Beauty and the Beast on blu - 10/10. My all time favorite Disney movie gets a great looking and sounding release.

Karate Kid - 6/10. Not a bad flick and I liked little Smith. Jackie Chan also did a much better acting job, showing some chops in the more difficult scenes. He's not Pat Morita, but he did a good job.

Movie Marathon weekend (Oct. 9-10, 2010)

Movie Marathon weekend (Oct. 9-10, 2010):

Letters to Juliet (2010) - 8/10
- Testosterone warning!! Very cheesy!!
- Story is good though.. Puts into perspective the powerful phrase "What If?", that can change the way you live life.
- Consolation - Amanda Seyfried is very pretty! :D

Letters to God (2010) - 6/10
- Cheesiest movie I've ever watched!!!!! Watched it because the wife was curious to see it. :)
- Very inspiring story, the epitomy of 'feel-good'.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe (2005) - 8/10
..back to back with..
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008) - 8/10
- We skipped watching this series of movies in the cinema, thinking they were just 'trying-hard knock-offs' of Harry Potter.. We were proven wrong!
- Large scale world; awesome characters; very good choice for the family

Fools Rush In (1997) - 7/10
- Planned to watch this while my wife was still pregnant
- A great movie for first-time parents, but kinda long for its genre
- Salma Hayek, 'nuff said! :D

fools_rush_in_video_release.jpg

Along Came Polly (2004) - 6/10
- My wife loves Jennifer Aniston, so had to watch this with her.
- Good for lovers who are considering breaking up because of their differences
- Some scenes can be really annoying due to the corny jokes!
- Too much torture for our testosterones! Jennifer Aniston & Debra Messing are sights for sore eyes though!

Premonition (2007) - 7/10
- Sandra Bullock in the mystery-thriller genre, very rare does she appear in these movies!
- There are some creepy scenes, especially when you think you can still change things after seeing the future!

Dude -- that was one estrogen-infused movie marathon (Narnia being the minor exception). Just from reading the reviews ... I'm kinda craving some explosions, gunfights, car chases, and non-plot-related nudity. Haha.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

I haven't seen it yet. I remember reading the premise thinking "Three college students, no one has a cell phone?" The whole plot sounds pretty contrived.

Yea, but even if they had them, they can always pull the 'no signal' routine. Not like that isn't getting old.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

LOL! Tell me about it, man! :lol But don't worry.. There are some weekends where the wife had to endure testosterone levels!

Last year, she watched this in one sitting:
- Rambo Quadrilogy
- Terminator Quadrilogy
- Taken (bearable for her)

:lol:rotfl

Hatchet 3/10 Lame. Better luck next time. If I wanted to see a hillbilly in coveralls killing people i'd pop in Friday part 2. :lol

Day of the Dead 7/10 Attention whore gore but still a fun 80's cheese flick.

Sleep Away Camp 4/10 I :lol at the ending though.

Creepshow 2 6/10

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Pineapple Express - 8.7/10

...also just watched season 3 of True Blood and while I loved it, still liked the 2nd season a tad bit more. I'd say, 9/10

After what she put you through this weekend ... you should make her watch a season of 24 in real time. Start Season 1 at Midnight. She can sleep and eat when Jack does.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

^ That video sucks. Why? Because it's called "Man gets pulled in half"...

That man is Captain Rhodes dammit!

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

My favorite of the original series.

I like the writing. I even love Burtons take on the Penguin. (And I know I'm in the minority there.)

I love the Burton flicks period. They're awesome. Still are. His Penguin is really fun.

"It could be worse! My nose could be gushing blood..." :lol

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan - 5/10 Good stuff. Enough classic Trek charm but with new suits, effects, and a pretty good story throughout. For me 2-4 is its own little trilogy. STtMP doesn't exist, I hate 5, and 6 is fantastic end final chapter for the original crew.

The Hurt Locker - 8/10 Very character driven and certainly keeps you in suspense throughout each mission. Had really expected the film to end with Brenner's character dying, glad I was wrong. Also one of the only times where handheld cinematography doesn't annoy the crap out of me as it definitely seemed to fit here.

My favorite of the original series.

I like the writing. I even love Burtons take on the Penguin. (And I know I'm in the minority there.)

For me there are a couple plot holes in the third act that irk me plus each of the four main chacters has their own subplot that never really get to be explored to their full potentional. I honestly would've loved the flick to be longer.

That said, I dig the grotesque Penguin and Max Shreck (the Nosferatur nod is pretty cool), and the whole Bats and Cats love/hate arc has always been a favorite. She makes the perfect foil for Batman but the catch is they are in love with eachother. Its also my favorite Elfman score to date.
