pretty sure Robocop is one word.

Up in the Air 6/10 Pretty funny at times. Fast paced. Anna Kendrick was awesome. I wanted the happy ending.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan - 5/10 Good stuff. Enough classic Trek charm but with new suits, effects, and a pretty good story throughout. For me 2-4 is its own little trilogy. STtMP doesn't exist, I hate 5, and 6 is fantastic end final chapter for the original crew.

You mean 10/10 right? I don't know how that movie could be rated any lower.

And 6 ties in beautifully with 2-4. As for STtMP - I still love it.

Part 5 was definitely uber crap, as were all the next generation movies.

One of my favorite movies. You have to give us a review of the bluray disc. I hear the single Robocop bluray is pretty crappy. Curious if it is the same transfer on the boxset.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

I still say the UK office was better. David Brent > Michael Scott

I think they are equally enjoyable. The UK office certainly has much more subtle humor, but I find it not as rewatchable as the US version because of that. It's certainly brilliant television, no doubt about that but I watch it once every year or so, while I usually watch the US version a bit more often.

I have to agree with you about David Brent > Michael Scott, but on the other hand, even though Scott is based on Brent, they're still very different characters. Brent is the more arrogant one, who can't accept the fact that he isn't all that who he thinks he is, while Michael is different in some ways. He is more naïve, lonely and perhaps more childish and he does everything he thinks will earn him the friendship of his employees.

I really learned to appreciate The Office US, because I stopped comparing each and every character to their British counterparts. I see it as something based on the same idea, but taken in a whole other direction with some similarities along the way, and with some storylines even taking it further where the UK Office stopped.

So for me it's very, very hard to choose an absolute favorite one, because both shows are funny, have great characters, have real life moments and have heart. And for me these shows are certainly among the best that I've ever seen :) :peace

:lol:lol:lol

Will leave it well alone then

How was 2?

2 is decent but like The Entity says it doesn't touch the original. 2 would be much better if the annoying kid wasn't in it. :rotfl

I always found 3 quite enjoyable... it definitely wasn't much worse than part 2 IMO.

But both of them don't even come close to the original Robocop.

I grew up with the first and second and watched the third about a year ago. I hate it. I just can't get into it.
I have the robocop 3 hot toys figure and gave the jet pack away since it reminded me of the movie. That's how much I hate it. :lecture:lol

Yeah that's the thing, I grew up with 3 as well. So being a kid, I thought pretty much everything with a jetpack was awesome, hence why I liked Robocop 3.

Haven't seen it in years though... I might like it because it's nostalgic fun, I mate hate it because I see it in it's true form now... Who knows? :dunno :lol

I always found David Brent to be heavier on the embarasingly funny side. That's kind of the whole basis for the show. The humor is meant to make you feel uncomfortable, and nobody does that better than Ricky Gervas imo.

And I love the journey his character goes through. The last few episodes (including the Christmas special) are so awesome. I love it when David tells off the guy he was always trying to impress. I felt oddly moved by it. In a way David Brent is a very sad character. He so badly wants to be accepted and loved. It was very cool to see him start to let go of his neediness in the end.

I also found myself crying with the way they concluded the Tim and Dawn story.

I guess I just like that the British Office was short and sweet with a great conclusion. The US oOffice just seems to go on and on and on!

I totally agree with your post! As for the comment on The Office US, I think they have gotten away with it so far, but IMO they should really consider ending the show when Carrell leaves.
I think I've read they will go on with it though... I certainly hope they manage to keep the show above average, but seeing that they already got a tad less funny after S1-3, I'm not too sure about this plan to keep going on. I hope they stop while it's still good!
