The Shawshank Redemption- 10/10. Great movie. I cant believe I never saw it until now.

Although it made me a tad sad, because most of my friends left me for collage and stuff.... So I feel Red's pain.

But great movie.

Great movie indeed.

But I don't follow. What "pain" of Red's do you feel? In the end he and Andy found each other. It's the best buddy movie of all time IMO and it has a happy ending.

Amazingly. Haven't seen a flick like this in a while at least not one that plays on different levels. Very bittersweet story.

Actually, I saw it once or twice a long time ago. Encore just started airing it, so I caught it again. Are the sequels worth a viewing?

Valentines Day, Father of the Bride & Predators

Valentines Day (2010) - 7/10
- All-star cast, including hotties Jessica Biel, Jessica Alba & Jennifer Garner
- Level of Cheesiness is 8 out of 10. (another "forced" watch by the wifey)
- Typical Hollywood relationship-movies, wherein different couples/partners have different experiences on the same day.. Lots of ironies & realizations if you're watching with your partner.
- Julia Roberts had a supporting role, but her character was one of the best portrayed & most touching scenes especially at the end. God bless the military!!!
- scenes with Jessica Alba in bed? PRICELESS!

Father of the Bride (1991) - 7/10
- One of Steve Martin's "at his peak" movies; Boy, does he love to narrate in his movies!!!
- This is a preview/warning for people planning to get married. It is very informative for us guys, haha!
- Kinda drags on in some of the scenes, especially the wedding proceedings.

Predators (2010) - 8/10
- I don't understand the hate of the critics on this movie.. It was a great revisiting to the Predator mythos as it referenced the 1st movie and mimicked the environment & feel!
- Adrien Brody's portrayal of Royce was one of the best, in my opinion. His upcoming Hot Toys headsculpt facial expression does not epitomize how much of a tough guy he was in this one. He reminded me of Wolverine a lot, in that he didn't care a lot and he was "the best at what he does". Makes me re-think if I should pre-order an HT Royce (There is still time before pre-order closes)
- Probably, the main feeling of "letdown" does not come from the movie, but from us.. We are no longer "wowed" by the sight of the Predators (at least the non-die hards) because we've seen them at their creepiest during the 1st two (2) movies. They are still pretty bad-ass, but not as bad-ass as when I first saw them. This franchise needs fresh new ideas to strengthen the Predator mythos!

RED: 9/10 Awesome, over-the-top fun and action! Out of the films this year, in this same kind of genre; like The A-Team and The Expendables, I think RED is definitely the best! I loved the action, humor and the characters were great. Especially John Malkovich's character!!

Couldn't agree more. One of the goofiest over the top bad acting i've ever seen (for a hollywood blockbuster). Eric Bana was almost as bad as Pitt.
