Let Me In

8/10

Just got back from seeing this. I won't go in-depth comparing it with the first film and the book, but it's a good horror flick. Well worth seeing for any fan of vampire films.

I got the impression from the preview

that they greatly expand on the revenge ending by the pool.

Is that right?

I'm assuming you mean in comparison to the original film's ending, not the book (either way it's been a long time since I've read the book). I don't think Let Me In greatly expands the ending, but it's certainly executed differently. It's more violent, it's a whole heck of a lot harder to see anything because of how dark the setting is. One aspect I did like about Let Me In's pool scene versus the one in LTROI is that you really can tell how scared Oscar is of his bullies. He tries to escape. In the first film the actor is rather passive.

There's really only one aspect of the film's ending that bothered me, and it's regarding a photograph. Anyone who's seen both film's and/or read the book will know what I mean.

Great movie indeed.

But I don't follow. What "pain" of Red's do you feel? In the end he and Andy found each other. It's the best buddy movie of all time IMO and it has a happy ending. :dunno

Alright, "felt"...lol.

No, it's great. Amazing movie, great ending. Pretty much perfect.

I just really liked the underwater view of the violence in the first movie. I though it was a very creative idea. Gave me goosebumps. :)

Oh yeah that was well shot. In the newer version, in that scene most of it you see from Oscar's perspective.

I'm hearing that this film is being pulled out of lots of theaters rather quickly since it's hardly making any money. Makes me kinda sad.
