Mad Men season 2

8/10

Just finished it tonight. I'm not sure why I like this show, but I know that I like it. It's not something that I'd tune into on a weekly basis, it moves too slowly for that. Seeing it on DVD or netflix is the way to go for this series. Being able to go 2-3 episodes at a time really helps.

No, I actually enjoy this film! So the story has plot holes and stuff... Some would even say there isn't a story at all, but I like it because of all the awesome mythical monster fights and everything. I know they're not accurate to actual myths, but by knowing that and not be bothered by it, I can really enjoy this!


Last Action Hero: 8.5/10 I seem to remember enjoying this more when I was a kid. Still a very entertaining film!

Watched Tekken again. This time I tried not to hold a grudge against it like I do with other video game movies. It's not as bad as I originally thought it was. The fight scenes are pretty good, and the actors are actually passable.

Predators 9/10

Hadn't caught it in the theaters, and was pretty impressed overall. Got back to the feel of the original without being a total clone.

Good cast (though Danny Trejo exits the story way too early imho) Topher Grace didn't ruin the whole thing that's a plus

Kubrick's Shining will always be unmatched.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - 7/10 Damn near an 8 just cause I liked the cinematography so much although there multiple occassions where the lighting was just ____. I'm all for the moodiness but if you can't see anything then who cares. Story was decent though but they spent a little too much time getting to the point.

Batman Begins - 6/10 Never really thought it was as great as others did. Great cast but poor use of a fantastic villain (Ra's Al Ghul). Also thought the whole evaporate the water bs was pretty weak. It does get the essence of the character down more than any (non-animated) incarnation prior though.

The Dark Knight - 8/10 For me this is one of those rare situations where a sequel improves upon the original. Nice to see the Scarecrow again, if even for a sec, and Bats isn't in a new suit just to sell toys. I love how it steadily turns into a suspensful game of cat and mouse with the whole city caught in the middle.

Iron Man 2: 9/10 I liked it now more than the 2 times that I saw it in the theatre! Absolutely enjoyed watching this again! Can't wait for the Thor, Cap and Avengers films!!

Shutter Island: 8 / 10. Really love the foreboding score for this film.
