Restrepo - 9/10

WATCH THIS DOC!

I saw bits and pieces of it, though didn't get to fully commit to it. I'm sure NG will re-air it ... they re-run stuff all the time. I'll have to catch the whole thing next time around.

"Hey. If you see that dude again, take his head off."

There's your problem. :monkey2

More accurate than the Nick Cage test.

It also has Alfred Molina, Michael Keaton and Rory Cochrane. Mini-series from a few years back about CIA activity from the beginning of the cold war to the fall of the Soviet Union. I've heard reasonably good things about it, though it looks a lot like "The Good Shephard". I like Keaton and Molina most of the time ... I'm indifferent about O'Donnell.

Fantasia (on BluRay) 10/10

Love Fantasia, and to have it on BluRay is kickass. Really nice looking transfer. Haven't watched the included "2000" version yet, but cool that you get both versions even though the original is far superior.

The Call of Cthulhu - 7/10

Cool little faux silent short from 2005 I happened onto browsing netflix. If you like silent films and Lovecraft give it look.

The Package with Gene Hackman and Tommy Lee Jones---6/10. One of those conspiracy movies that I'm not a huge fan of. Overall it was a decent flick, but someone that was in the Army would've been able to pick out all of the holes without hesitation.

Fair Game - Powerful True Story about how the American government and CIA flubbed the whole, "Iraq has or were building weapons of mass destruction."

8 out of 10

Highly recommended!

I loved Fantasia 2000. :dunno

Been meaning to get that for a while.

Its okay to me... but I just don't think the new shorts have the same feel and quality as the originals. I'm probably a bit biased though, so I'm willing to admit that :lol

Fantasia 2000 (Blu-Ray): 7/10
Some great sequences... but the Whale one just bores me to tears, and the Beethoven's 5th piece could have been better. Still a fun addition.

Red Hill - 9/10

Great modern-western...kinda like an Australian 'No Country For Old Men'. Solid performance by Ryan Kwanten too.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Since Kersch died this week I re-watched "The Empire Strikes Back"

10/10

I'm probably doomed to never find another movie that measures up to it.

My absolute favorite movie ever. Without a doubt the best of the Star Wars series.

Predators: 6.5/10

Pretty good. I thought the climactic battle was a little off in the pacing/structure. Those plot elements that popped up during the climax seemed odd, like they were just piling on problem after problem for the heck of it. I like how it ended with the potential for the sequel, though. Adrien Brody was surprisingly good in the role, and wow, did he get buff!

You're probably right about the content of the original being better, but animation had come a long way for 2000. Plus it's widescreen. :D

Alice in Wonderland (2010)
8/10
Some of Tim Burton's films are either hit or miss w/ me.
I thought this one was great.
I have to re-watch the ending...my mother and sister were talking over it while I was trying to watch it today.

Batman: Under the Red Hood: 8/10 (very close to 9/10)

This was fantastic IMO. Even though I'm no fan of the "bring the dead guy back to life" gimmick, this was absolutely classic Batman. Great story, great action, great representation of the characters, just cool all the way around.
