Long but I broke it up over two days. Better version of an already great movie. Costner's best work by far and just a great movie all around.

Captain America: First Avenger: 6/10

I really wanted to love it, but it just felt overall kinda bland. There were definitely some cool parts here and there

like Cap throwing those soldiers out the plane and the one through the propeller

and I thought those enemy planes were awesome. But I felt the advanced tech based on the cube just seemed unnecessary and out of place. And even though we got to spend so much time with Cap, I still felt like we could have gotten to know him better. The other characters needed more characterization too. They all felt very surface-y in varying degrees. But it's very hard to pinpoint exactly why I didn't really like it. On paper it sounds like it's hitting all the right notes. But I just didn't feel it.

And I had read people talking about that abrupt cut of Cap swinging from the chain in the hangar--it's so true! Truly a WTF moment! And Stark was supposed to be Tony's GRANDfather, right? That would make sense.

I felt more engaged by Thor and definitely liked that and X-Men FC better than Cap.

actually there are tons of excellent movie out there unexposed..

I have to say that for some reason I didn't feel like watching it, but because I didn't want to take too long before giving the movie back to my friends, I decided to watch it, but it felt more like an obligation.

Luckily I was mistaken and it was a great watch!

Makes you wonder what other great unknown movies are out there indeed.

there is this korean movie that is really good titled "THE CHASER"
its a serial killer thriller genre... it is out of the ordinary, i mean you can feel emotions coming out from the movies... this movie beats any hollywood serial killer genre any day, any time... hands down..

if u interested, i'll pm u the link (megaupload/fileserve only)
with english subtitle .srt of course..

there will be a hollywood version of this movie though.. but nothing beats the original version..

forget to give review...

The Island of Lost Souls - 6/10

For fans of classic horror and sci-fi, this one is a must see. The first screen adaptation of Wells' Island of Dr. Moreau, it's easily the most disturbing, and I can see why it generated so much controversy. Since Lota the panther woman is really an evolved animal, not a human, Moreau's attempts to have her sleep with the male lead are truly beastiality. Ignoring the moral subtext, Moreau's final fate is pretty gruesome even by today's standards, and the animal make up was very impressive all around.

Sadly, other than Laughton's acting as Moreau, the cast is the usual sub par 1930's acting troupe. Kathleen Burke as the panther woman does a nice job exuding sexuality, not bad for someone who had just turned 18. Meow!

the chaser is better than "i saw the devil" 8/10
"i saw the devil" is more to the revenge genre type of movie, whereas "the chaser" is more in thriller serial killer type..

if you like korean revenge genre type.. u should try "OLD BOY" that is the ultimate korean revenge genre..
