Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Finally saw Drive - 8/10. Great movie in terms of plot, pacing, acting, sparse but well written dialog...but dear God, I hated the soundtrack. It kept pulling me out of the film, reminding me of some bad 80's Madonna movie. Gosling was great though, as was Brooks, so they managed to pull me back in every time.

Crazy, Stupid, Love 8/10

I think the actors really made this one. Ryan Gosling, Steve Carrell, Emma Stone, etc. were all great. The plot was a little too contrived in how all the characters and plot threads are intertwined, but the characters performed so well that you can forgive it. Very enjoyable.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

That's a good one. Great cinematography. Something that seems to be lost in today's filmmakers.

The Grey - 4/5

Important: I don't recommend wasting your time to stay after the credits end. Seriously you bastards had me believe it was going to be worth my while... worst after credits bit... ever! Granted, it was kind of cool. But not sitting through several minutes of credits cool. :lol

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Well, I missed the beginning, but now with that end credits scene, it is worth it. But it's mostly worth it for the people with ADD who were expecting an all war. :lol

It is not worth it. Dude, the scene is 2 seconds long. lol 7 minutes of credits for 2 seconds of a scene? So not worth it. Like traveling 3 hrs to drop off something at a place (takes you all, but 5 minutes), and 3 hrs to drive back... NOT WORTH IT! Just mail the SOB!

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

it is if you care. And I cared. But I wish I didn't miss the beginning. Oh well.

I don't mind waiting if I don't have anything else to do. Plus it's a good time to talk and discuss the movie with your buddies. Or take a ____. You don't have to sit there. :lol

Our Idiot Brother: 7/10
Funny comedy; evidently I'm a sucker for anything with Paul Rudd so this was an easy one to like.

Conan the Barbarian (2011): 5/10
Watchable; but very, very disappointing. Was hoping they would have gone with a more Howardesque story and feel... but honestly aside from the name nothing about it really felt like Conan. Overall it was a couple steps above a SciFi "barbarian" movie and doesn't even come close to touching the original flick or books.

As a funny aside my wife was looking forward to it because "the guy who played Drogo from Game of Thrones" was in it... about half way through she asked me where he was and when I informed her "that's Conan" she was disappointed :lol

Captain America: The First Avenger: 9/10
Aside from slight pacing issues, this is one of my favorite super hero movies. I really enjoy the story and like the blending of WWII and over-the-top super science.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

X-men First Class (2nd time viewing) - 9/10

still great. Though Beast looked and sounded much better in X3. Also the timeline contradictions with the previous films are annoying - especially when this isn't a reboot but simply a prequel

Star Trek - 6/10

Just...it has a lot of annoyances. Some big (Vulcan destroyed by time traveller? Simples, use time travel again to reverse what he did, like Star Trek has always done - why can't it be done here? Especially when old Spock is the one who pioneered the slingshot around the sun method in IV), some small (Lens flare. And why are phasers now little lazer blobs instead of the continuous and more realistic lines of light that they used to be?).

Its not that I have a problem with the alternate reality thing - in fact I think it'll be great fun - its just that it doesn't make sense in the context of the Star Trek universe. These things have always been reversible before, theres no reason this wouldn't be. Theres especially no reason that old spock wouldn't use time travel to save his own planet when he used it to save Earth in Star Trek IV.
