Want to like it, but it just looks a bit too crude compared to the LSF. At a fraction of the price, sure, but even for a PF scale figure it's not wowing me. Nothing like the detail of the original PF with all that ornate figurework on the throne. Was really looking to this one but I think it's gonna have to be a pass for me.

Feeling the exact same way. The original PF was the 1st high end piece I saw that wow'd me to the point I searched online for details about it, though it had already reached legendary status and pricing so news of this years later was great. Was hoping this would be equally as stellar and detailed as the first but it doesn't come close imo. Have to think this one over.

It wouldn't of cost them to add more detail to the armor, especially since they have fabric covering most of the statue....

Doom's armor isn't really detailed like the LSF though. The PF is much more accurate to comic Doom. I don't know where the detail on the LSF comes from. Maybe it's modern Doom but i mainly collect silver age, bronze age and copper age books and the PF is how he looks in those books.

Honesty not even modern Doom is that detailed. I always just think of the LSF as maybe a movie version or just simply an artistic take on the character. It's beautiful but not comic book Doom.

Technically the comic book version didn't have the dark green trim on his outfit either

PF still looks good, but if they would of added the extra detail of the LSF it would of really popped... The EX gun is cool but I'm going to hold off on buying this and see if XM has any plans on a Doom, if not I'm sure this PF will have like a 5000+ ES on the regular version so I can buy this after it releases..

Tbh, if this version and the original sitting version came out at the same time with the same price point and ES, I would prefer the new one. Like another poster mentioned, I rather my pfs not be sitting.

That being said, the original seems more intricate. If it were released today I'm thinking the price wouldn't be $389

Agreed, people keep saying the legendary scale looks more impressive. It better be... it costs 5x as much. Imo, larger statue = more room to work with. You scale that down to 1:4 and the work would require more intricacy due to being smaller (aka $$$$)

I think this PF is amazing. I love the intimidating stand, which is almost identical to the LS one. I also prefer this iconic/classic look, although the LS one is a very nice take on modernizing his look. This PF is without hesitation pre-ordered.

That's the exact same way I felt when I saw the reveal for this. The original Doom PF wow'd me to the point of throwing down $2k and starting my addiction to collecting sideshow statues that has now grown to over 80 statues in my collection. This version of doom doesn't nearly hit those same feelings so I don't think I will be ordering it. I really have to think hard after the full reveals during SDCC if I want to add this to my collection or not.

Agreed.

Legendary is a class of it's own. This PF bridges the gap between unaffordable Legendary and the Unavailable/unaffordable original PF. I'm not the biggest doom fan but this is a solid statue and you'd be mad to pass it up if you were a Doom fan. All those years of *****ing and sideshow puts it on a plate for you then........... more *****ing.

This place is worse than "made in Chelsea" sometimes (me included!)

Had to scale down my statue collecting, but this might be one I have to get. Red Skull and Doom are two of my favorite villains.

I'm not too fussed about the same pose...it's a good pose to showcase the costume.
