ok cool - I was wondering about the helicopter guy. So, what is the deal? Thought barry died in RE2 and RE3 ends one day later.......?

Thanks for all the awesome input and info, guys! I've really enjoyed reading all the comments!
I think you're confusing Barry with Brad? Barry returns as a lead character in Revelations 2.

Ah, you are right. I am/was. Yeah, that character looked nothing like Barry. I was thinking Brad the whole time. LOL. such a RE noob....

Thanks for correcting me....

Leon's is canon, it's how he becomes a Gov't agent.

Funny how of all those teased storylines for future games never happen aside from that one. That whole "were going to Europe to fight the Umbrellaz!" thing got tired pretty quickly. All the EX files in the N64 version of RE2 aren't canon anymore either.

I think Jill's led into Umbrella Chronicles, technically. But Chris's actually could have been worked into Code Veronica...in essence they could have made Claire and Chris's portions their own campaigns, with Chris's covering his entry into the island and getting notified by Leon, though not sure about how Claire would be reworked. I think Ada's is completely non-canon though.

Also, why didn't Rebecca or Carlos get an epilogue...? I also noticed that after this game, we don't know anything recent on Hunk, since the thing that mentioned him in CV is probably before RE2 happened. Hmm.

RE: Veronica Code X has been an interesting game to me. Got to the Tyrant, and quickly realized I had way too few of any ammo & health to stand a chance. Started over. About to get to him again (scary how fast it goes when you know where to go), but this time I have ALL my grenade ammo, 100% of those semi-auto dual pistols from the beginning, and about 4 upgraded health packs. Yup, gonna make the Tyrant my personal beyotch.

I think Code Veronica is the best game for keeping a constant pressure on the new players, most players the first time around found themselves low on ammo the more they progress where as with the other games once you get past the initial opening you pretty much coast the game. Code Veronica gets a rep for being a hard game as a result of scaring players in to wasting their ammo on enemies they needent because of how much of a threat they can be.

But i do think code veronica has the biggest difficulty spikes between having a constant threat level to then all of a sudden a Dark Souls boss battle

I would agree with that, cause if you go nuts on ammo, as I did not know what to expect, you are screwed. That said, this one is not my fav of the first (main) 4. Voice acting of Steve is pretty cheesy, as is the villian that thinks he is his sister. Environment could have looked a tad more creepy, but I am enjoying it for what it is - a continuation of the Claire storyline.

ill be interested the more you progress though. do keep us informed its a guilty pleasure listening to first experiences through these games

Update: ok, got past the nosferatu boss - very cool creature. Moved on to Chris, and the game kinda just did a 360 on me. Chris made some comment, 'on a lead given to me by leon..' But wait: wasn't claire still trying to find her brother and on a tip given to her from leon she went to the prison island. Meaning, she has yet to find Chris since the end of RE2. So how could Leon know Chris since RE2 was his first day and remaining STARS has already left for Europe.

So, Leon and Chris should have never met each other?@?! What am I missing?

Post Re 2 Leon was forced to work for the US government, essentially for his freedom. Where as Sherry was held prisoner and was to be tested on because of the G virus. Claire went rogue. With Leons position now working for the government its generally assumed he has access to information others may not as he has a team around him. But him being able to know where Chris is, and actually just get in contact with him could be 2 different things. We know Chris was avoiding Claire as he didnt want her to get involved, so it could just be something as simple as Chris not taking calls, replying to emails but when he gets one from Leon saying Claire was in trouble, and this is where she is, he was forced to come out of hiding.

( but was it said Leon was the one who told Claire to go to that island specifically? i cant remember that off the top of my head )

Thanks, where are you getting this info? About Leon? later game or a novel? That does make sense, but just haven't gotten any of that (yet) from the games....

Leon did tell Chris of Claire's position, we know she emailed Leon that much. But Claire was imprisoned on the island, she wasn't told to go there :lol she tried to infiltrate the Paris Umbrella Location though.

Kiva, you may be thinking of Ark in Resident Evil Survivor who was told to investigate Sheena Island by Leon.

You're both right. But Leon did somehow contact Chris although the specifics aren't known other than that. My guess is that when she sends the email to Leon she actually has Chris' last known whereabouts thanks to Steve finding that info via that very same computer.

In a later game when its starting its like, " oh ok so hes working for the US government... ? cool i guess ! " But in Darkside chronicles we do actually get the scene after the events of Re 2 and he is told his skills could be put to good use. These arent major spoilers or anything, its just a thing thats not made a big deal of. All though youd think it would be.

I think that's how, and Leon was able to use that + his government connections to get to Chris.
