Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

This update is ****ing awesome. I'm enjoying life so much right now :lol

The best port ever!

:D

I feel like I'm missing out.

Are you getting this for PC, PS3 or PS4?

Good to know! Brace yourself as it only gets more terrifying later. :panic:

The only "flaw" I could nitpick is that the cropped ratio should not be the default option for first timers. Been switching back and forth, and came to the conclusion that original 4:3 is superior since the cropped 16:9 indeed omits a lot of what you're seeing on screen. Don't get me wrong- It's not Capcom's fault at all since there's no way to go around this solution but it's nice of them to give the option.

I'll be playing in 16:9 for now and revert back to 4:3 on my subsequent playtroughs till the end of time.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

Is there a hard copy on ps4, or is it download only?

Cheers anyone

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

My first 15 fumbling minutes running around on PS4. Please excuse the suckiness.

Awesome stuff Ryan! I can't wait to try it tonight.

One thing I noticed in this, they had the same grainy texture on the dining room statue's base. It looked bad in the GC version, and this doesn't look no different. The only complaint I got.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

Looks great on ps4 honestly no difference on either both the PS3 or ps4.

Just the resolution bump to 1080p and better anti-aliasing. I doubt you're missing out if you're stuck with a PS3 version.

Thanks Pliss!

For once, we get a a flawless port. Those complaining about "framerate" probably don't understand that frames DO drop when shifting between two 2D backgrounds. This is 2D/3D hybrid game after all.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

How do you like the new movement scheme? Did you try that yet? You can pick between that and the old tank controls right?

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

Personally, the tank controls feel okay. I've found that it's better to use the D-pad for movement, rather than the thumbsticks.

By the way, if any of you guys are registered on REnet, feel free to add me. Blade01.

Playing it on 4:3 ratio is a blast! As much as we can fault Capcom for a lot of things, they really do make good ports and re-releases.

I just wanted a physical copy of the game I wanted to play this on ps4 if it's that much better I'll just wait for a Psn sale .

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

I read aside from the BSAA costumes, there's really no extras that added. They could of given us character skins to play as, Rebecca, Barry, and Wesker. Just... give us something. Or maybe a mercs mode at the very least...

Dunno certain cutscenes in the game are blurry capcom got lazy.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

Yeah, I only saw the BSAA costumes for Jill and Chris, nothing else...

But, a digital soundtrack and artbook did come with the pre-load for Steam, so that's better than nothing, I guess.

Hmm, you're probably right. I'll have to re-check those cut-scenes later tonight.

Yes I did and actually there were more than 2 control schemes including variations of the Classic and Alternate controls. IIRC there are 4.

The modern or "Alternate" controls DO work, but they feel floaty as Jill would seemingly be skating around. I would say the tank controls are they way to go and only opt for alternate controls if you still can't handle it, not that it's a problem for you.

Come to think of it, Alternate controls are like Automatic transmission in cars. That certain feedback is just not there. :lol

Yup, tank controls are indeed for the D-pad, and $:3 is the way to go. I have blu ray movies that are in 4:3, because cropping isn't always the best solution. Are you using the PS4 controller?

That's what I was afraid of, like the characters don't have any weight as they move around. I think I'll only use them when I do my knife run since it will make evading easier probably.

Yeah, I'm using the DS4. But, I don't think it'll really matter if I use a DS3, though. The game doesn't seem to rely very much on precise movements and aiming... (correct me if I'm wrong :lol).

Yup, no rush to upgrade, I think you're perfectly fine.

:exactly:

Yeah, the knife run is the only reason to use those controls, otherwise these are for babies.

Nope, you're absolutely right. Only thing is the DS4's D-pad is much more comfortable than the D3's. :lol
