Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

i didn't play it yet, however i did check the main menu and options .. the main menu didn't get an update "an HD update" .. hopefully while playing i dont experience something like that

in the DMC HD Collection, the gameplay only was in HD while cutscenes was in SD

I think you might be confusing aspect ratio with resolution. The 1.33:1 academy ratio has no relevance whether it's HD or not, it's just a proportional width and height.

In this game, the "Original" screen is the way to go because there's no way to play this game in widescreen without cropping the image, ditto for certain art assets in DMC HD collection.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

I didn't get far into it last night. I got ample time to play it tonight though and I can probably beat it. When I get the Platinum in this, I'll end up double dipping and get it on PS3 too.

I tried the PS3 version today and it's not bad at all. The difference between the PS4 version is that the visuals are slightly blurrier and the backgrounds are slightly washed out. The performance seem solid, if not equal to the PS4 version so to those stuck with last gen versions, don't worry about it.

No cross-save though. Darn.

That's good to know. My girl is a big RE fan, and she was pretty surprised how clear it looks since she's seen the GC version. I love how crystal clear some hallways are, that were so distorted and foggy looking. Although, I thought it made it moodier.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

I just got the shotgun last night... and the Jill Sandwich.

It's my first time playing REmake, and my god, this game is sublime. The controls took some getting used to (especially aiming), but it genuinely feels like how a survival horror game should play.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

Eet was hah'd.

I rented the original RE for PS1 yeeears back, but I can barely remember anything :lol. I only truly got back into this series last year, when I replayed RE 4 after a nine-year hiatus.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

I got into RE4 last week since I was bored of PS4. Excellent game, but was the beginning of the end of the series.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

I loved RE 4 immensely, and there was definitely some nightmarish things in there. Dat Verdugo bro. And dos Regeneradors and Iron Maidens :monkey1. But, I can see how it started the downfall for the entire franchise - from survival-horror to third-person COD that followed with RE 5 and 6.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

code veronica was the begining of the end for survival horror. I think people to this day under estimate what RE4 did for the franchise, it was like a new splash of paint to a dying series. RE4 was nominated for game of the year... Survival horror had became redundant by that time.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

That's the thing with RE4, it still had very creepy elements in it. And the Ganados numbers really puts the pressure on you. My first playthrough of the first village freaked me out, since Salvador chases you up the steps with the chainsaw :lol

BTW this is the best track from REmake.

Which is a redone version of this.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

Having a blast with RE, i bought a gamecube for this one and the twin snakes so its nice to be able to play it again after all these years.

Haha, I did exactly the same. Twin snakes, this and resident evil zero.

Bought this last night. Great game. I loved the remake and this is the same but with nicer graphics. Resident evil is truly unique even to this day. I decided to take down the first zombie and wasted 10 bullets! So had to keep thinking from then on when to run or shoot. It's stuff like that that sets this apart.

Has anyone tried to go through a door only for a message to pop up saying "you must finish the download bedore continuing"

I had it happen to me a few times last night when trying to go through doors in the mansion? Strange.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

No door problems, but the amount of times for the game to save seems like an eternity for a PS4.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

Digital Foundry did some tests & comparisons for the game

PS4 vs PC

PS4 vs Xbox One Frame rate test

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

Yes, a buddy of mine had that issue, I told him to check the download status in the PS4 options menu, I forgot what it's called but it's where you check the total size of each app. You'll probably need a good chunk of the game installed before playing. The initial download is about 3GB and the full game is about 15GB.

How many times have you saved so far? Only the initial save takes awhile.

I saved at a typewriter once, and it felt like it took longer than it should of.

Yes, a buddy of mine had that issue, I told him to check the download status in the PS4 options menu, which is SETTINGS>>SYSTEM STORAGE MANAGEMENT>>APPLICATIONS>>RESIDENT EVIL. Check your install progress there and you'll probably need a good chunk of the game installed before playing. The initial download is about 3GB and the full game is about 15GB.

It was really Zero, the game did little for the series and whatever new it did, wasn't that good or loved.

Re: Resident Evil Remake Remastered

You know, I was playing the same areas last night on PS4 as they did on the Digital Foundry PS4 vs PC comparison above, and it didn't stutter as much as what I've seen here. So I don't know...strange.
