Maybe that's a legal loophole. Interesting. I wonder if anyone's ever tried to pursue a lawsuit?

I've never read anything about one being pursued and Zombie Killer was pretty much Milla with the desert outfit. Would be hard to deny a likeness.

Maybe there's not enough pay out awarded for such suits? Or perhaps they don't see it as much of a threat, unless it's heavily mass marketed. I don't know the numbers released though, obviously.

To be fair though, a lot of those aren't very accurate. :lol

I think their best one is the Obama TrueType.

Obama's legal based on U.S. law. But there's still the matter of Terence Howard, Jake Jyllenhaal, Dominic Purcell, Wentworth Miller, Taylor Kitsch, Prince Henry, Prince William, Kurt Russel, etc.

Obama's president, public likeness.

:lecture:lecture:lecture:exactly:

The closest thing I've seen to this is the Bobble head guys doing that Schwarzenegger likeness and trying to claim protection under public likeness.

Of course they lost because Arnold is still making movies. I think most companies basically can do it, because its not being pursued.

Yeah, I knew about that one. It was actually in the news, if I recall correctly.

Only issue I ever saw on the news was Arnie and the Governator bobbleheads. But despite being a political figure, his likeness is protected under a law regarding actors and their likenesses since he was well established in that genre before politics. Those I mentioned who're on the TrueTypes would also have their likenesses protected under the same law. So regardless whether or not Brothers Productions products are "officially licensed," HT has very weak grounds on which to sue given they're just as guilty of the same crime (and arguably moreso given theirs dates way back to their military figures).

No, no I mean it was just reported along the lines of "hey, Obama has his own figure now!" Nothing negative, like a lawsuit or anything.

Retribution Alice suit soooooo needs HT treatment. If not, some knockoff company. With HT pumping out " powerful women " alot lately im surprised they stopped. Or so we heard. I still dont buy it until enoguh time has elapsed after the movie.

Id lvoe this line to get figures cos its so Eye candyrific.

They probably won't be doing anymore RE movie figs... seeing as Alice is now officially off the table, due mostly likely to Milla's past comments about the first product.

Yep.

Personally, I like the figure and can't wait till the end of the month to pick it up, when I've got more disposable income to blow. :D
