Double Amen, with sugar. The CG clones were bad, but really bad when they didn't have their helmets on.

Yep. I know he wanted all the Clones to be the exact same height and CGI is one way to do that, but how hard would it have been to open a casting call for guys that were exactly 6'2"?hairlesswookiee said:for what lucas spent on doing the CGI couldnt he have just used a regular stand-in for most of the scenes then just add his head in later like what he did with Dooku and Palpatine??
1080i is the highest broadcast standard in the US as well. 1080p is only available on HD DVD and (eventually) Blu-ray. Many TVs support it, but that just means that they have to deinterlace 1080i broadcasts.pitchin said:HD is stunning, the only bummer is that only 1080i is availablr in UK atm......we need 1080p asap![]()

If you recall, Lucas didn't want to release ANY of the Star Wars films on DVD until Blu-Ray became available, and then do the most mind-blowing boxed set ever created. He only released them on standard DVD after a campaign by fans who couldn't wait. That's why TPM didn't come out till 2001.congerking said:I still stick with the unending money supply quote. doesn't lucas have enough money???
I had the privilege of interviewing Rob Coleman (animation head) for the release of Ep III and he said George insisted on CGI clones simply because he could. He wanted to test the limits of what they could do. Guess he didn't figure on HD showing up all the shortcomings, but maybe he'll do some more retooling.hairlesswookiee said:for what lucas spent on doing the CGI couldnt he have just used a regular stand-in for most of the scenes then just add his head in later like what he did with Dooku and Palpatine??
