Feels like Christmas Eve. Christmas morning will be when I find out how many points I've racked up. I'm so happy we can use them for pre-orders!

I'm willing to bet you can APPLY your points to pre-orders but you don't GET points for pre-orders.
I have a feeling you're right. I hope we're wrong.

I wonder what percentage of your purchase will go towards your account! It should be as follows: 1% for a normal person, 5% if you are student? 7% if you are older than Mithrandir and 10% if you spend more than 6hrs a day on the freaks board!!:monkey3

C'mon guys. It makes no business sense to give us points for pre-orders. How can we spend AND get points for the same thing? Seriously!

We're either going to get points for pre-orders which we can then use for in-stock items only, or vice versa. Not both.

I believe I see where the confusion lies.

What Mikey said is this:

If you have X amount of pts and use them toward a preorder you will NOT get pts for that preorder but you WILL get pts from any other preorder where pts are not used in a redeeming fashion.

It does make sense to me also.

I had to read that twice to comprehend it. After much idiation, I have determined that, although I did not say precisely that, the statement does indeed reflect my relevant sentiments.

The points will be awarded 30 days after a product ships.

So you preorder an item, you pay for it, it ships, 30 days pass so that you can no longer return it, and then the sale is final and you receive the appropriate number of rewards points in your account. So you will receive points for the things you preorder, but not until after they have shipped to you.

Now it is very likely that the points are awarded per dollar spent. So if you redeem 25 dollars worth of points on a $50 dollar item and pay $25 cash for the balance, you should receive reward points for the $25 you spent, not the full $50. That's my guess.

Also, don't expect reward points for your tax and shipping costs.

I wonder if you will lose points for cancelling pre-orders (from now on). I hope not, but it would be another reason to keep an order.

You won't actually receive the points until after your order ships and you don't return it within 30 days. So if you cancel a preorder before it ships, you would have yet to receive points for it.

You won't get points immediately upon preordering things, only when you follow through with the order by paying for it and keeping it once it ships.

Mikey, sorry if it seemed I was putting words in your mouth. I should have said "What I beleive Mikey is saying is..."

Long day of politics makes for one tired and burnt out college student.

No problem. I don't like debating semantics. The point was well made.

I wonder if it will be 1 point=1 dollar, I was thinking it would prolly be more like 50 points=5 dollars or something like that. Tom, I'm practically replying to your post, but I'm not trying to be argumentative or anything. :monkey3 Although I doubt you will take it that way--you're pretty laid back. Plus I don't know if you were actually saying you think it will be one for one or if that was just a convenient easy example. I suspect it was the latter. :D Anyways, your post got me wondering how it will be.

P.S. I notice I use more smileys at night...odd.

I have no idea what the value of points per dollars is going to be. I actually had written in my little example "25 points" and I changed it to "25 dollars worth of points" instead. I don't think that there will be a 1:1 correspondence between points and dollars when you earn them, but I think there will be when you spend them.

I am guessing 5%, or five points for every hundred dollars spent, with each point being worth one dollar. That's what my Sideshow intuition tells me. (Of course, my Sideshow intuition and four bucks gets me coffee at Starbucks.) Of course, Sideshow can be pretty generous at times, so they might go 10% and prove me wrong.

I'm guessing one point per dollar spent with a certain number of points being worth one dollar of credit. Something like 25 or 50 points equalling one dollar. But I guess we're going to find out very soon.

Well, we are going to have to do math one way or the other, whether ten dollars spent gets you a point, or you can redeem ten points for one dollar off your purchase. Since I was not a math major, I predict that I shall be confused at least three times before successfully redeeming a point.
