The UFC was AMAZING. The best fight came from War Machine, who wrestled at my high school, he was bleeding awesome !!!!!

Best fight NO DOUBT!!! Man those 2 put on a show. I thought for sure War Machine was done and then BAM!! That was sweet.

And the best part about it all, it was free:rock

It's funny, the best fights are on the UFC's that are free. Guess no "BIG" stars to try not to get hit and knocked out. Hopefully the liddle/silva and hughes/jsp fights will be as good at the end of the month

Thats the only PPV this year I have been tempted to order. I just want to see Liddell & Silva. I would LOVE to see Hughes get put on his ass again too.

I hate that douche bag. Its a bummer that Matt Serra is injured.

I suppose us Brits can now add Hatton to the list of lovable losers that make up the majority of our "top" sports stars and despite losing I expect he'll still be in the running for the BBC Sports Personality Of The Year award along with fellow failures Lewis Hamilton and the Rugby team. No country celebrates the mediocre in sport quite like the UK and it makes me sick. We were once a nation that had the balls to say "**** you" to Hitler, yet now we seem to settle for "Oh well,we tried hard" or "We won a World Cup in 1966".

Wow....that's quite some built-up anger you got there. As for the World Cup, you guys have as much of a chance winning as US.:D

Yet you don't mention Joe Calzaghe?

Lewis Hamilton is only 22 and his debut season lost the championship by 1 point ( a little harsh on him I think)

English rugby team got all the way to the final which no one expected eliminating tournament favourites Australia & France en route

I just get fed up of all the hype that occurs every time a British boxer/athlete/whatever is involved in an important event.
The moronic media and a large section of the fans seem to think we have a divine right to win everything and when we don't fall back on the same old "we tried hard" BS or blaming bad refereeing decisions instead of admitting we aren't good enough.
I can't say for sure but it's unlikely a US sports star would still be up for an award for coming second,Muhammed Ali never said "I am almost the greatest!". Winning is everything and that is the mentality that this country needs to adopt if it's ever going to have any lasting sucess.

Mayweather is still an ass. I guess it just aint time to cash those karma chips in yet.

Still think Hatton fought a great fight. I don't know how they figured he only landed 63 punches. :dunno

But that talent, your either got it or not, all you can ask is that an individual gives it their all

I had my doubts about Mayweather after his last few fights but he raised his game last night & truly is the best pound for pound fighter in the world. But he was born with that talent you can't teach it.

I don't like mayweather but you have to respect his ability

Hated by who?

Suppose people feel the same way about him and mayweather, that they were both arrogant *****. I was too young to see any ali fights live, but I've seen the replays on ESPN classic and he was a great boxer. Buddy told me yesterday that all he can do now is shake your martini for you, which is funny, but SO SO SO SO SO SO much wronger.

Oh well, and BCM, you brits still have calzaghe, who I don't see anybody beating in a long time, if ever. Would love to see him fight B-Hopkins or Roy Jones Jr.

Ali was almost universally hated by all of America in his time. His second chance came because of all the hoopla that was caused over Vietnam protests. He was used as a poster boy for anti war protest just like most celebrities throw their names and faces around today. He was a media puppet and people have grown to love the myth and achievements around him as the years have gone by, but as a person, and in his time, and by a lot of that generation today he's still hated.

Hated? Well I would have to say that White Supremacists and War Mongers shouldn't count.

It's clear that your jaded by your own opinion of the man and have some sensationlized idea about why others didn't like him. I'm positive that there were plenty white supremacists (not sure why you're using capitals for that term) and war mongers that hated him and I can asure you if they are those things they still do, but to overgeneralize and say that is the only people is extremely short sighted. It's quite apparent your opinion of Ali is formulated from a Will Smith interpretation of him.
