Who's a _____? Crowe? I'd say hardly .............. you can't blame the man for despising the everyday loser reporter. If I were famous i'd be famous for laying plenty of beatings. The man doesn't "play the game" so what. To be honest, I love the man even more after this interview.

yeah at least he still had a sence of humour with the italian jab.
f'in second rate reporters, actually that's BBC so i'm not sure if they're even classified as reporters.:gah:

It's nice to see some positive reviews on here. I'm a huge Crowe fan so I will definitely be seeing this.

I saw it last night. I liked it. Love period pieces and I really like the backstory and the different take on this version of Robin Hood. Definitely leaves things open for the story to continue.

This review is pretty savage

As soon as I heard the rap music I knew it was gonna suck. Didn't even watch a minute of it. :monkey4

The trailers have not inspired me. I can't help but see Crowe and think of Gladiator but also I can't help but look at him and think of the TV series that was on the BBC that I never watched either. Due to the bearded Robin Hood.

However, for some reason Robin Hood Prince of Thieves will always remain #1 for me. Something about the film to me still doesn't look dated. Perhaps because it's all shown in natural scenery.

Plus I've always loved Costners costumes in this film more so his boots.

Plus that song. It still moves me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGoWtY_h4xo&feature=related 2:47 the sound of that guitar. Stunning!

Even to this day I just can't picture Cate Blanchett kicking the hell out of people. To this day I always see Blanchett as Galadriel.

I saw Prince of Thieves 3 times in the theater. :)

New to this thread...

Any word on a 1/6 action figure?

I would love for Hot Toys to make one of him. :rock

The trailers are totally misleading anyway.
They make out this is a traditional story of Robin Hood, even though it's nothing like one.

Looking at the cast... how did this happen? in Prince of Thieves Robin was Loxley. "Robin of Locksley (Kevin Costner)"

In this he's Longstride. Cate and her family is Loxley...

Oh my god! He's Friar Tuck. God, he irritated me in The Thin Blue Line.

The cast looks crap and goofy to be frank.

That explains alot. This movie had me confused because the commercials and trailers do look like the traditional Robin Hood story, but from what I've read in the story its much more like a prequel set during the crusades.

Guess I'll have to keep waiting for a good literary Robin Hood movie.

saw it this weekend and I am sad to say that I did not really enjoy it...

I am a huge Robin Hood fan. This movie is not Robin Hood.

Yes, there was some cool action scenes and a few things that felt familiar. Overall, if you took out the characters names (robin, john, will ect.) You would have no idea that the movie was about Robin Hood.

I only started getting interested during the last 10 min...

Also,
Ridley totally used the "lost kids" in a wrong way... they had so much mystery behind them and it was dumb that he used them to show up at a battle that was far away from Nottingham. AND I am totally over Hollywood trying to make the lead woman a warrior. All Marian did was get in the way during the final battle. Too many movies are trying to make these petit beautiful actresses into bada$$es. (ex. LOTR, PotC, now Robin Hood)

My rating 4 out of 10

I have to wonder if people are going into this movie with the idea that it's just a remake of the old Flynn or even the Costner Robin Hood. If it's a prequel like some are saying, it's not going to be anything like the other two.

I'll be going this afternoon.

I saw this last night and I went into this knowing it was not a tradition Robin Hood movie. While I had some problems with it I enjoyed it overall. They are planning a sequel already that would be a traditionl Robin Hood story if this one makes enough money.

Maybe I'll go see it just in hopes that they make a sequel and it'll be good. I think the idea of exploring what he was up to before becoming Robin Hood is pretty cool.
