Awesome!:elefant
Still probably wont be as good as Robin hood men in tights.

Just watched the new trailer ... looks VERY good. Contrary to previous expectations, the plot seems not so much Gladiator as Braveheart (wherein one man leads a revolution against a tyrannical King and his Tax Collector).

I don't see all that many movies in theaters -- but my wife and I will be there opening weekend for this one.

This looks like a grittier take on the legend, so I don't see it over stepping the Errol Flynn and Mel Brooks versions (which are my favorites :rock) and I totally agree that it looks like Gladiator in Medieval England.

However, I loved Kingdom of Heaven, and if this is anything like that, I'm sure it will be decent. I wonder if Scott will drop any references to that earlier film since they take place around the same time, and Robin Hood films usually tie into the Crusades.

I have liked Just about every single one of russel crowes movies. This one looks like it has some great potential. Im looking forward to seeing it.

Can't wait too See this.

Looks awesome, finally a Movie with Russell Crowe, since Gladiator, that I actually want too see

Actually, Russell Crowe is one of the few actors for whom I like almost everything I've seen him in -- Cinderella Man, Gladiator, Virtuosity, American Gangster, 3:10 to Yuma, Body of Lies, Proof of Life, The Insider, LA Confidential, State of Play, Master and Commander -- I even liked A Beautiful Mind on second viewing (I didn't like it the first time because it ended up being a competely diferent movie than I expected from the previews).

He's one of the few reliable guys-guy actors out there. Cinderella Man and Gladiator are among my favorite movies ever released. If I had to pick a single favorite actor ... Crowe may get the nod (though Willis, DiCaprio [who'd have thunk it after Titanic and "The Beach"?], Norton, and Damon would get consideration).

Yeah I agree SnakeDoc Russell Crowe is a pretty consistently good actor and has made some great movies. LA Confidential is probably my favorite of those you listed, though American Gangster and 3:10 to Yuma were fantastic films as well.

You didn't like DiCaprio in Titanic? Because of his role or his acting or some other reason? I agree The Beach was a pretty terrible movie, but hey, every actors got one (at least, for some, that's all the have lol)

I was not a DiCaprio fan prior to The Departed. In every role I saw (including Titanic) he had this Tiger-Beat-pretty-boy thing going which made me think he was destined for a career like Patrick Dempsey's, where women swoon, and men roll their eyes and say "who is this schmuck"? I figured he was destined for sappy romance-novel chick flicks.

But, with The Departed, Blood Diamond, Body of Lies, and now Shutter Island ... he seems to have left that stereotype behind pretty well.

Ahh okay I see where you're coming from. Did you see him in What's Eating Gilbert Grape? If you haven't, he has some real acting chops in that movie and the movie itself is quite good.

The Departed was awesome in so many ways. Did you know that DiCaprio and Scorsese are teaming up again for a Sinatra film? Should be interesting to see how that turns out.

I'm looking forward to the movie, but I look more forward to the possibility of a Hot Toys figure, if they do one with rights to do Crowe's likeness, it'd be a cheaper way to get a Crowe head from them than hunting down the Military figure with one, plus the portrait would be even better detailed and painted, and maybe even a nice body for use in a Maximus custom.
