Just saw it today, and I can't shake the feeling that it just felt so contrived. I hint if anybody is comparing this to gravity, I think Gravity is way more original. But that's jus my opinion.

Matt he's always so simple I know he's autistic it's like he just plays Matt Damon. Very limited capacity for acting other characters.

Matt Dammmmit!

can't believe no one's talking about this more, seeing as how it's doing so well at the box office and is currently a hot topic given the recent discovery of water on mars. i've seen it twice now and liked it even better the 2nd round. damon was great as expected, the science was spot-on where it needed to be, and ridley did not disappoint in the visuals dept. it kept the spirit and the humour of the book intact. here's a pretty cool, well-analysed review of the martian that i totally agree with.

I loved this movie. Majority of movies nowadays I find myself checking my watch 1 or 2 times throughout. Not once did I check my watch. It didn't even feel like I was in there for over 2 hours. I enjoyed everything about it.

i lol'd at project elrond...with boromir in the same table. :lol

That part was funny in the book, but having Sean Bean in the scene really elevated it.

I enjoyed e movie, but I enjoyed the book more. I actually felt like the movie got slow in parts, but the book was a page turner for me. The book never slowed down.

Ah I see this movie got struck with the classic "book does it better" phrase. Honestly, I think that should never matter. Interpretation of books are subjective, I could find Twilight exhilarating but someone else would rather drink **** from an elephant.

I just came back from this and I ****ing loved it. Taking a lot science courses this semester and it's incredible as the amount of science talk actually making sense in this film. I plan to buy this day 1 and I'll probably have to catch it again this weekend.

Saw it today and it was good. Don't think I loved it though. I think for me it suffered cause it wasn't Imax (which isn't offered) and I think its the kind of movie that excels in Imax. Liked Watney's whit and the science of it, but I don't know. My feelings about it are odd.

I haven't watched this one yet (I've got to find the time first) but I read something interesting online: Supposedly, there's a Martian Manhunter (DC) Easter Egg in there. They say he appears in the background in one of the many scenes Damon's found on Mars. Did anyone catch that?
