Thanks for the kind gesture there Rulk, but I've also got a bunch of PS3 games I haven't even touched yet.
Mine should arrive tomorrow. I am looking forward to it since I enjoyed the last game so much.
I do need to give Uncharted a try. I bought a used PS3 earlier this year and picked up the first 3 Uncharted games, but haven't played them yet.
Not that the new Tomb Raider games are bad- far from it. It's just that it's hard to differentiate the new games with Uncharted where they both do the exact same thing- mindless cover shooting, super unrealistic set pieces, close calls and the protagonist narrowly escapes a crumbling environment. Unlike Tomb Raider, Uncharted is self aware at how dumb these scenes are and Nathan Drake tends to make light of it, with some of the most hilarious quips ever to come out of a videogame character. Having a sense of humor makes me look forward even more to what fate would throw at Drake next.
Lara on the other hand, handles these falling cliffs, explosions, escape from the crumbling environment like it's real. There is no humor, no irony, nor witty remarks which takes away from the immersion imo. I love the Tomb Raider series when it had it's own identity of exploration and sense of awe, not when it's trying to be a serious Uncharted clone.
I know a this opinion will get a lot of hate but there's nothing wrong with stating one's opinion so long as we're all being polite and respectful, is there?
