Re: RobertoBagg10's Display Thread

Big grats on the MKIII. That is really a find! I always wanted to get that one. I've chosen to settle with the battle-damaged version, though.

Hi there Chris, thanks for the kind comments my friend :clap I often watch your superb YT vids and enjoy your indepth reviews. Yes, i saw your MKIII Battle Damaged bust...again like the clean version its a piece that looks even better inhand than it does from pictures dont you agree? I was very close to purchasing the BD version as i was starting to give up hope on finding a clean version.

Thanks a lot, buddy! :)

I haven't seen the clean one in real-life, but I can only imagine how awesome it must look. The BD version sure does.

In any case, I like this bust way more than the new one. There is something raw about the MKIII bust, that the new one doesn't have.

Yes, the new MKVII seems to be getting a lot of mixed reaction. Some who think that the bust looks rather plastic looking, arc reactor looks poor in terms of detail when compared to the WM's arc reactor, etc...

Then there are those who are seeing a few positives in the new design like the fact that there is an arc reactor this time (which will tie in nicely together with the WM bust when on display) and from early proto pics its looking to have more metallic feel to the faceplate which i felt was missing on the original MKIII bust and is probably the only negative point that i have on the MKIII. I for one am looking forward to recieving the new MKVII bust, just a shame that it didnt achieve its initial release date of May as this would have tied in well with the release of the new IM3 movie :( so we wait now until August :gah:

Re: RobertoBagg10's Display Thread

August is the new April/May, I hear. ;)

Yes, I agree. I have had the same thoughts regarding the arc reactor and the faceplate. It does soom to have a more chrome look. I like that, but still, I do feel that the MKIII has that more raw, predator-like look.

Still, I'm excited to see the final product of the MKVII. I'm sure it will satisfy.

Re: RobertoBagg10's Display Thread

Re: RobertoBagg10's Display Thread

Hey Roberto I was looking at your collection thread and your displays are awesome. I apologize if the answers to some of my questions are in the thread but is hard to read it all.

I was wondering what materials do you use to create some of your dioramas? They look amazing really like the Rambo and heman.

Also the display case are those made by you?

The whole set up looks great my man congrats. I am looking forward to seeing the bat cave you are working on.

Re: RobertoBagg10's Display Thread

As Roberto requested me to do I'm gonna post a couple quick snaps of Doom with his chalice.

Thanks again man for the info on how to order this as it really does add to Doom imo.

Hey Luciano, many thanks for kind words and for taking the time to go through my thread...in regards to my dioramas i have the belief that you dont need to spend hundreds of pounds on creating effective looks or on expensive materials. Infact, some of the materials i have used for my dioramas are found in most homes :) For instance, for my Rambo display i had used real rocks to create the rocky desert background, same with the He-Man Castle greyskull rocks (i just washed the rocks and then repainted them!)

Many thanks once again, the Batcave diorama is going really well and hope to put up some pics shortly. Just wish the darn Batmobile would get here already!! Due for shipping next month but still no news for Hot Toys???:dunno

Great update my friend ;)

Thanks for the pics my friend. Looks awesome! As for futzing the Doom hood, it does take some time but the more you fiddle with it you should be able to get the desired look. Mine took abt half hour but i also looked at various images of Doom and how he had his hood in the pictures for my reference so maybe try that if it helps.

I took your advice, and added something to my display. ;) I decided to go, not with a low besta, but a medium one. :)

Yep, looks so much better Chris and very flattered you took my advice. awesome display my friend :clap

Re: RobertoBagg10's Display Thread *My Dr. Doom PF Display with Video*

HT already said they're making 16 suits so far :lol

WTF I remember when I was planning on getting all the HT suits. I got as far as MK 1 to 6 & War Machine but then got into statues but wow people can't get enough of IM at least there's some really different suits coming out now.

I just want one 1/2 SS Legacy Suit to represent IM for me. MK VII

How about some pictures of your Hulk PF RB. I wasn't planning on it but its just become my new want & I said I was done going back on past statues :slap :lol

Hey RB, i know i've said it before but you proper remind me of how i was when i first started collecting a year ago. After you 've purchased one of Sideshow's old school pieces you always promise yourself that it's the last one but then something always comes up! :rotfl The pieces you have already purchased such as the Comic Thor PF, Captain America PF and the Spidey Comiquette are must haves for any hardcore Marvel collector so Hulk should not be forgotten...however, you know that purchasing a Hulk PF these days is easier said than done...remember be patient and one always comes up when you least expect it. Here are some pics of my Hulk PF that i posted a while back (which Jay kindly enlarged for me). I would have taken some new ones but as you know, all my pieces are in their shipping boxes and i'd have to rummage through upteen boxes just to try and find where it is :dunno plus he's a heavy bugger!! :exactly:

P.S. After securing the Wolverine LSF i have now almost raised the entire funds for the upcoming Doom LSF provided it costs 2K of course. I sold the remainder of my MR FX Lightsabers for GBP1000.00 so im ready for you Sideshow....release the Doom!!!!

Nice Pic's RB. Ant kindly just sent me a link to a seller close to me who is selling a Hulk PF. Maybe to soon though as all my spare cash has gone this payday. Well what I can spend on myself anyway.

What are them MR FX Lightsabers expensive now? I gave mine to my little boy. The Vader & Yoda ones :slap

And congrats on the Doom funds. Man you are prepared :)
I always seem to be playing catching & it's damn tiring :lol

Good luck with the Hulk PF RB, as you know...i rate it very highly in my collection and so for the right price i'd definately consider it.

I have been a collector of MR FX Lightsabers for about 7 years and managed to collect over 75 FX Lightsabers (yes, 75!!!) about 50% of them were still sealed in their shippers and the rest were opened to check and then placed back in their boxes. Ever since being introduced to Sideshow i have had to sell the majority of my FX's and last weekend i sold the last 6. They were 6 rare FX's in the collection and all brand new and sealed so they fetched a great price! Although i did keep 2 of the MR FX's behind which were the two rarest lightsabers in the entire collection, they are the Darth Maul Double Bladed Saber Signature Edition and the Vader Gold Plated FX lightsaber which in recent auctions on eBay has fetched over GBP1500 on its own due to there being only 50 ever made and also the fact that it was never released to the general public!

After MR had folded as a company back in 2007, Hasbro had taken over the FX lightsaber license since 2008 and i collected all their releases too, although arguably they are no way as good as MR! I have also sold the majority of the Hasbro lightsabers but have kept their removable blade versions as i really like the concept of being able to remove the blade rather than it permanently staying in.

However, as of late Hasbro have cancelled their manufacturing of the high value FX Lightsabers and are now concentrating on the new Ultimate FX Lightsabers which has been targeted for the younger generation. This is what your probably familiar with as they sell for a very reasonable price and do most of the things that the more expensive FX lightsabers could do but instead the hilts are made from plastic as opposed to chrome metal, so hence why the prices are so different.

Hey Roberto do you make your display cases yourself? They look great.

Hey Luciano, yes i do make my own display cases although the last one i made was for my He-Man display and that was over 8 months ago now. Once i have found a new home i will build a few more for certain pieces that i have in mind. They are all made from acrylic plastic and is extremely easy to do. I had taught myself by watching YouTube videos :yess:

I keep meaning to ask that because I need one for my Judge Dredd

Indeed i do make my own display cases RB...and when i eventually settle in my new home (whenever that may be) then i'd be happy to build you one...although i will have to charge 'Jay Rates' Labour plus Jay Rates 'VAT' and then finally Jay Rates 'Shipping Costs' :rotfl:rotfl
